ALOHA! It’s Sakurai! This time I traveled to Nasu-Shiobara in winter ♪ Just like last time, I went around by train and bus. In this first video, I enjoy a relaxing stay at a hotel along the valley ♪ Please watch until the end! First, I head to Nasu-Shiobara Station by Shinkansen. Since I was going to catch an afternoon train, I bought a bento at Tokyo Station for lunch . I bought a beef bento from Asakusa Imahan. The meat is so tender, it’s my favorite bento! I arrived at Nasu-Shiobara Station! There is also a cute photo spot ♪ Apparently, they are holding a “Strawberry and Milk Fair” in the Nasu-Shiobara area . Since the last bus from Nasu-Shiobara Station to Shiobara Onsen has finished, I head to Nishinasuno Station . I came across a freight train ♪ What a fresh sight! I’ll take a walk around Nishinasuno Station until it’s time for the bus . There was a police box in a retro building right in front of the station ♪ Along the main street just outside the station, there are convenience stores, coffee shops, and stylish tofu shops? There are many shops lined up, including restaurants and crepe shops . I walked along the street next to the train tracks. The sky was very beautiful as the sun was setting. There were many cars parked in the parking lot at the station. I wonder if there are many shops around here? It was time for the bus, so I returned to the station. From Nishinasuno Station, I took a bus to Shiobara Onsen Bus Terminal and headed to the inn. I boarded the bus from this bus stop. This time, I bought a Shiobara Valley Free Ticket on the bus ! It is a ticket that is valid for two days and allows unlimited rides between Senbonmatsu and Shiobara Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a recommended ticket for those who want to get off and visit the ranch and Agrival Shiobara along the way . At Senbonmatsu Ranch, the winter illuminations were lit up. You can see a newly opened restaurant in the background. You can also see the animals. I arrived at the inn. On the way there, the bus stops right next to the inn. This is where I’m staying this time. It’s a 140-year-old inn located along the valley with spectacular views of the four seasons. The interior is very clean, and there is a drink service, so it gives the impression of being able to relax. This time, I stayed at the inn . I stayed in room 403, a standard room in the main building . There are many rooms with open-air baths, so if you want to relax in your room, you might want to go for one of those. Let’s start with a room tour. There is a closet in the wide entrance hall. There is a refrigerator with a minibar. This is the bathroom. There are two sinks, so you don’t have to fight over them in the morning. There is a hair dryer, cosmetics, hair styling lotion, etc. installed. When you open the window, you can see the stream right below. It’s impressive at night. You can also see the suspension bridge over there. In the morning, the light came in and it was very bright! You can also see the stream from the bath in the guest room. The room is very spacious and calm. When we arrived, “Maple Cookie” and Shiobara’s famous water were prepared for us. When you open the window in your room, you can see the stream and the approaching mountains right there ! Before dinner, we headed to the hot spring. The water at Fukuwatari Onsen is colorless and transparent, and is made of chloride rays that are gentle on the skin. It is said to have a skin-beautifying effect and does not cool down easily . The open-air bath where you can take a bath while listening to the sound of the river flowing allows you to warm up slowly, and it was the best relaxation in the morning and evening! After the hot spring, we headed to dinner in a private room. This time, we booked the “Special Course” with Nasu Kuroge Wagyu beef as the main dish. The yuzu liquor for the aperitif was very refreshing and had a good aroma. The sashimi also had my favorite yuba! I ordered Tochigi strawberry cider ♪ The color was very vivid. While enjoying the appetizer, we started grilling the meat. The grill marks were beautiful! It was a wonderful meat that melted in the mouth, had a good amount of marbling but was not heavy, and had a sweet taste! This heart-shaped bowl was very cute in both color and shape ♪ Food that is particular about appearance can be enjoyed with the eyes as well. This one contained rare red mushrooms! The miso soup contained three-colored somen noodles. For dessert, there were strawberries, mini daifuku, warm oshiruko, and chewy shiratama ♪ Warm desserts are nice in winter ♡ After filling up, I had tea at the drink corner. It ‘s nice that there are so many types of caffeine-free tea ! We ate at the lobby lounge overlooking the river. There was a massage room near the room where we stayed , so we went there. The massage chair from the hot spring was even more relaxing! Speaking of hot springs, we also played table tennis! We took off our slippers and fought on the tatami mats! I faced off against my mother and was defeated miserably lol. I was sweating so I went back to the lobby lounge again ! There was alcohol in the drink corner and we mixed wine with soda. There is also a mini library for those who want to relax. The next morning after sleeping soundly with the sound of the river babbling in the background , we went to the “Outdoor Lounge” which was just completed in 2024. It was cold in winter so we had it all to ourselves, but the clear air was very refreshing and it was a wonderful terrace where you can feel nature up close ! You can see the whole picture of the suspension bridge. We slowly drank tea here and it was an elegant morning. We also had breakfast in a private dining room. Wild yam! It’s nice to eat rice. The pork soup served in a small pot was hot and very warm. This bar is also nice to see in the morning! After the meal, we had some tea and headed to check out . This inn where we stayed this time not only had a wonderful open-air bath and a wonderful view, but it was also a wonderful inn where we could spend a really relaxing time . After leaving the inn, we walked to the bus stop at Shiobara Fukuwatari to catch the bus . The weather was really nice.
