Feeding the lions directly!? Japan’s Amazing Safari Park!! | Oita African Safari🦁
A trip to one of Japan’s most popular safari parks! Let’s ride the safari bus and meet the animals up close! Beautiful scenery and adorable animals. Hope you enjoy it! Good morning. I’m at Oita Station. Oita is about 900km from Tokyo. It’s a city located in the Kyushu region. Today, I’m taking a bus from Oita Station to the safari park. I’ve arrived at African Safari! Even on a weekday morning, it’s already crowded. Let’s buy a ticket. Admission to the zoo is ¥2,600. The safari bus costs an extra ¥1,500. Total: ¥4,100! Pretty expensive😂 You can’t book the safari bus online. Since it’s popular, I recommend reserving as soon as you arrive. Here’s the safari bus. There are different buses featuring lions, elephants, and more. The ride takes 50 minutes! Humans are the ones inside cages. Have a great ride! Our bus has arrived! It’s the lion bus! So happy! I was lucky to be the first on board. Here’s what the inside looks like. I’ll sit in the very back. Animal feed. Chicken for the carnivores. This one’s for the herbivores. Let’s head out! First up is the herbivore zone. Once the bus stops, they start crowding around. Here you go. These are mouflon, a type of wild sheep. Only the males have large horns. Aren’t they cute? Next up is the bear zone. So close! Oops, I dropped the meat! The bears don’t want to attack people. They’re American black bears. They live in North America and weigh over 150kg. They’re surprisingly gentle. But I still wouldn’t want to step outside the bus. Here comes the lion zone! A pride of several lions. Wow! Amazing!! Their presence is overwhelming. I nervously tried teasing a lion. This was my limit😂 Let’s give them all the food! They’re kind of cat-like and cute. Actually, I take that back. They really are the kings of beasts. The bus stops for about 10 minutes at each spot. Lions have short attention spans, so you need to feed them quickly. What a rare experience! Thank you, lions! African Safari covers 1.15 million square meters of grassland, and is home to 1,400 animals across 70 species. You can also drive your own car through the safari park. But be prepared for animals charging at you😂 We’re back in the herbivore area. These are fallow deer. They still look quite young. Makes me want to tease them a little. That tongue👅🤣 Just like The Lion King! And now we’ve arrived at… The elephants! Let’s feed them some carrots. They use their long trunks so skillfully. Even the adults get carrots! Nice job! I’ve heard that when elephants get angry, there’s no stopping them. If one of these giants charged, you’d be done for… 🐘(Are the carrots all gone?) Bye-bye, elephants! What’s that silhouette? A giraffe! I squeezed my camera through the cage to get this shot. Sorry it’s hard to see. The bus seems a bit too small for the giraffes. There were also cheetahs and zebras too! Kind of surreal😂 The jungle bus tour is already nearing its end. What will the last animal be? That soft-looking hump on its back… It’s a camel! It’s my first time seeing a camel’s face this close. Its skin looks soft all over. Its teeth are kind of human-like. Camels are really popular with tourists. They’re such fascinating animals. 😂😂 Look at those wobbly lips. But camel lips aren’t just soft. If you look closely, the upper lip is split in two. When they grab food, those muscles get really firm. Such an interesting creature. Thank you, camels! That was so much fun! Those 50 minutes flew by! Bye-bye, lion bus. Thanks for the ride. Time for lunch. “Arosa” There are four restaurants in the park. I’ll try the biggest one. The souvenir shop is packed with people too. Restaurant “Salvia” What should I eat? Curry, pasta, hamburg steak… and even grilled meat! Payment is cash only. The inside of the restaurant is really spacious. I went with curry! It cost ¥850. Japanese curry comes with the rice and roux served together. Yep, it’s tasty. Not too spicy. It has chicken, potatoes, onions, and more. This red stuff is called “fukujinzuke.” It’s a type of pickled vegetable with a slightly sour taste, like a pickle. For some reason, it goes perfectly with curry. So mysterious. That was delicious! Now I’ve come to the petting area. Here, you can play with small animals. I wonder what kind of animals are here. ! There are rabbits! So cute. These are lop-eared rabbits. !? What happened?😂 I found a lovely tunnel. It’s the rabbits’ relaxation spot. This tunnel is the perfect size for rabbits. When I pet them, they fall asleep looking so relaxed. So soothing. You might be a bit chubby?😂 You must be eating something tasty. (Excuse me?) (I’m not fat.) You’re right. I’m sorry. Let me make it up to you with a massage. Next up, the guinea pigs. Here, you can hold a guinea pig in your lap. You’re only allowed to touch their backs. I gave it a try too. So cute… They’re very calm. Maybe they trust me now. Hard to tell from their expressions though. Thank you, dear guinea pig. There are guinea pigs in all kinds of colors. The black and white ones are adorable too. Inside the building, there are baby guinea pigs. They’re all super curious about the camera. Too cute to handle. It’s a world full of happiness. I found meerkats! They struck their signature standing pose for us. (All clear!) Squirrel monkeys. Are you okay? Not dead, right?😂 The way they sleep is wild. You can give them treats too. The ever-popular miniature horses. (Give us snacks already, humans!) They push their faces out to beg for food. The treats are carrots. Last up are the kangaroos. This is the Kangaroo Petting Forest. You can see kangaroos up close here. He looks a bit sad. I wonder if something bad happened😂 One kangaroo is boldly napping right in the middle of the path. He gives off a don’t-mess-with-me vibe. His body is covered in scars from fights. Turns out, he doesn’t mind if you approach. I carefully tried petting him too. He’s gentle. Kangaroos are very social animals. They live in groups of around 10. And their society is polygynous. Males fight each other over the females. Males actually weigh three times more than females. That big size really matters in their battles. Life as a kangaroo isn’t easy either. Anyway, I had a great time at African Safari. I got to meet so many amazing animals. You should definitely come visit too! To wrap up, let me show you some recommended spots in Oita! Oita is famous for its hot springs. I couldn’t film inside, but this place was amazing. After the hot spring, time for some local food. A raw egg and udon. In Japan, this is called “kamatama udon.” Japanese people don’t mind eating raw eggs. Thick noodles, egg, and soy sauce go perfectly together. Delicious! It’s not greasy, so it’s easy to eat. Next, let’s go on a hot spring tour in Beppu. At a place called “Umi Jigoku,” they serve delicious pudding. Firm pudding is the best. Now I’m at Oniyama Jigoku! Beppu has seven hot springs with “jigoku” (hell) in their names. Apparently, there are dangerous animals here too. Crocodiles! And not just one or two… There are tons of them! Around 80 crocodiles in total. They’re kept in secure enclosures. But make no mistake—those crocs are always watching us. “Restaurant Sumishun” I came here for yakitori—grilled chicken skewers. This is chicken breast. And pear fruit liquor. The perfect dinner. Pear liquor is pretty rare. Fruity and really tasty. Now, how does the yakitori taste? Delicious! The sauce is just right. Chicken and green onion—a classic combo. And it pairs so well with the drink. Finished off with chicken rice—also amazing! Thanks for watching all the way to the end! Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe!

Very good. I really enjoyed❤thanks for sharing
Great trip!!! I would like to see more of hot springs, you see I like them a lot! Thanks for the video🤗🇬🇷
Getting to feed the animals is so cool! And it's nice the zoo also has bunnies, they're are so cute 🥰
Those kangaroos look questionable 😂
Very nice sharing 😊
Good
I ate raw eggs when I visited Japan and never got sick, but I would never do it in America. The way they process the eggs is different in each country.
Aw the animals are so adorable! ☺️
They like to eat.
An animal bus looks annoying and obnoxious, but that's the life for them. Oh no. Here comes the bus again. I want to eat when I want to eat. It's not fun.
Periodic checks are necessary as a solution to this problem, but that'll never happen, so the best I can do is pray for the animals.
The animals aren't sinners.
I would like places like this more if not for the mistreatment. And I don't mean hitting the animals. The keepers just have bad attitudes and they're mean. What a world.
3:34 🦁Going to see the #lions has a #japaneseliondance🇯🇵🦁
Aside from the caged bus, do they have another bus, such as a panoramic one or one with large windows, making it ideal for picture-taking?
How to reach there from hakone and how much time is needed to complete the safari. Can u please guide
