Today we take the train to Amsterdam, the Netherlands Arriving in about 3 hours, as soon as we get out of the station, we see the canals..! Bicycles come and go, a true Amsterdam street scene The beginning of a trip through tulip fields and more It was just lunch time, so we went to a restaurant Cute appearance surrounded by flowers Restaurant with a nice atmosphere in a renovated 17th century building There was also terrace seating in the courtyard I would have ordered some Dutch dishes if they had them, but they didn’t… The restaurant is popular with the locals and was almost full right away..! It was still cold outside, so I took a break with a cup of jasmine tea Croque-madame for my daughter, sandwiches for my husband I ordered a caesar salad I also had dessert and it was a feast! After lunch we went to the beautiful Amsterdam Central Station There was a very large bicycle parking lot in front of the station..! I bought a one-day ticket and headed for the hotel The square just outside the station is the bus stop for Keukenhof Park We chose Novotel for the first day because of its proximity to the bus station We leave our luggage at the hotel and head to the nearby Miffy store Lots of tulips in the flower shop Cute rabbit decorations! We’ve arrived at the Miffy store I decide to buy a mug My daughter wants a stuffed Miffy My mug and my daughter’s choice of Miffy By the way, I chose the tulip mug Interesting bridge with houses on both sides The building that looked like a house was a lamp shop Cute tulip candle holders Life with a boat in everyday life sounds fun The top floor of the building has a pulley-like structure I found out later that it was used to move stuff in and out of the building A lot of the semi-basements with steep stairs are remnants of the old storage buildings It’s interesting to get a glimpse of a different way of life in the same Europe Walking along the canal This is a true Amsterdam cityscape Parking space on the edge of the canal Worried about being able to see properly when I get home late at night… Beautiful reflection on the water Walking along, I see the clock tower… Right next to it is the Amsterdam flower market Various flower seeds and bulbs are lined up I’m curious to see if the lotus flowers will bloom properly Found a bulb that looks like a burdock! I’m going to see the tulip fields tomorrow and there are too many people so I’m leaving..! Sometimes I see retro streetcars Place de la Dame is like Place de la Republique in Paris I’m getting tired and it’s time to take a break We’re at the Stroopwaffle shop They have a variety of cakes Stroopwafel is a pastry that originated in Holland We’ve never had them before, so we bought some We have it with cappuccino My neighbor was eating it dipped, so I’m going to copy him It was addictively sweet and delicious,
There are waffle shops everywhere in Amsterdam Wisteria flowers were blooming in Amsterdam too There was a cat..! Another cat Amsterdam seems to have a lot of cats Young people lying on cafe facade at sunset Toast with Heineken, a Dutch beer Still cold in Amsterdam in April A light meal at Spanish Tapas. These are Spanish croquettes, but I’d also like to try Dutch croquettes I also had Iberian ham, Spanish omelette, and many more Tomorrow morning is early, so back to the hotel On the second day, we will go to Keukenhof Park I booked the first bus at 7:30, but there’s already quite a line It’s about a 25 minute bus ride to Keukenhof Park On the way, we could also see tulip fields from the bus window! Arriving at Keukenhof Park, first we get a map We also brought Miffy with us The morning light is beautiful Various kinds of tulips with vertical stripes Beautiful and colorful flower beds, breathtaking! Pink tulips in different shapes, all lovely Photo spots of red tulips and Some people were taking pictures on the boat A typical Dutch view of windmills and tulips You can even go inside the windmills There’s a ladder staircase that goes further up View of the park from the top of the windmill Wooden shoes from a nearby gift shop and indoor shoes There was also a cute tulip umbrella There was also a place where tulips and cherry blossoms were blooming together The cherry blossoms are also very beautiful against the blue sky There is a building, so I’m going to go in This was the orchid pavilion. Very unusual light blue orchids! Here was another Miffy house The selection is almost the same as the store we went to yesterday I’ve never seen Miffy chocolates before There was also a Kokeshi doll & a Miffy duck They say Miffy-chan’s flower beds are adorable We entered the park first thing in the morning, so it was empty and we could take our time to see it Other than tulips, here are muscari all over the place I found a flower that looks like a pineapple Beautiful scenery around the creek It was nice to enjoy the morning to the fullest, as it was getting very crowded around noon People dancing to music in the square Old-fashioned hand-cranked organ, I’ve never seen one this big before! Lunch on the square’s café terrace After lunch, we head to the nearby tulip fields First, we go to the bike rental shop in Keukenhof Park We had a reservation so we could rent right away The bike path is well maintained and easy to ride Running next to the flower garden Some people are fishing The desired tulip field is about 20 minutes away by bicycle A short break, the tulips are being harvested in the back By the way, my husband rented a cargo type bike that my daughter can ride The road near the tulip field is congested, so be careful! We have arrived at the tulip field There are eating and drinking areas and a children’s playground, and it is very crowded We had a photographer here to take our family photos My daughter looks so happy Very happy to see the tulip field in full bloom It was a nice memorial for me to have a nice picture taken Back the way we came, even by bike, and taking the bus home In the evening, on the way to another hotel Hotel like a country mansion with a garden Our room was room 3 I love the atmosphere of the room The door on the left was a closet and on the right was a counter Going up to the second floor It’s like an attic, and my daughter was delighted Is this a shoe box? Shower booth is flat type Stylish but the bathroom was a bit difficult to use I’ll relax until dinner time Here we are at the attached restaurant Cute wallpaper It looks like a farm restaurant and all the food looks delicious The restaurant looks like a converted warehouse Husband has craft beer, I have a gin and tonic Holland is close to the ocean, so I decided on oysters for my starter Husband’s appetizer (forgot what it was) It’s too dark to see, but the main course was delicious! Morning of the 3rd day in Amsterdam We say goodbye to this hotel Today we take the train to Zaanse Schans Unfortunately it rains in the morning Zaanse Schans is a town where there used to be a cocoa factory There are many cute houses around here The famous windmills are coming into view, but the weather is too disappointing… Another row of distinctive houses on the other side The small building is probably the old drawbridge control shed Arriving at the waterside settlement of Zaanse Schans Walking through the settlement There was a garden full of fruit trees The house is all green Lovely hydrangea and decorations in front of the front door I found a pair of wooden shoes that are very Dutch Crossing a small bridge Glad to see a different view from Amsterdam Ducks swimming. In case you’re wondering, we also went near a windmill The weather was bad, so at least with the rape blossoms Sheep in Holland, baby sheep are so cute Late breakfast at a nearby pancake shop I ordered a cafe au lait and it came with a mini stroop waffle Pancakes that look like crepes and hot chocolate for my daughter It was a nice, colorful place Heading to the wooden shoe factory next door Photo spot of hearts made of wooden shoes Just inside was a small museum Colorful wooden shoes on display Japanese geta (wooden clogs) and musical instruments that look like wooden shoes…! In the back is a wooden shoe workshop The demonstration has begun We were shown the work with the instruments and the old-fashioned manual work I touched the wood chips, they are very wet..! The instrument had French writing on it, so maybe it was made in France Children’s wooden shoes all over the ceiling Colorful wooden shoes with windmills painted on them Ceramic Miffy found in a store attached to the museum It was a nice collection of blue painted pieces Then to the cheese factory First an exhibit that recreates an animal house Touching the fluffy fur Dutch cheese looks very heavy At the end was the cheese section Different from France, different kinds of cheese There were a lot of them, but it was crowded, so we’ll buy them in another store… I’m back in Amsterdam It was past noon, so we would like to have lunch somewhere Lunch somehow turned out to be ramen I thought I ordered a regular beer, but it was a non-alcoholic beer… My husband’s is a rare ramen with fried tofu in it Mine was miso ramen, plain and tasty There was a Japanese person working there, but I think the owner is from Holland? I have some time before the train back, so I go to a small museum I don’t have enough time to visit the Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House
We’ll go there next time. We’ve arrived at the Cat Museum We buy tickets and enter Already a cat on the stairs…! He was also under the table in the hall Lots of cat-related artwork on display Famous French illustrations and some unusual paintings A “No Orange Cats Allowed” sign and a cat wanting to get out It was not this cat and it left with museum staff Cats everywhere Pinball with beckoning cats…! Many photos of celebrities and cats were displayed here Let’s go out to the garden Everything in the yard was an advertisement for cats Finally, we went to the gift store Tarot cards of cats It was a fun museum for cat lovers Went to a cheese shop before leaving Came here to buy souvenirs You can sample all sorts of things This is cheese with cumin in it I bought cheese and a sandwich to eat in the car Originally we had planned our trip to Amsterdam in 2020 We had to cancel it because of Covid, but we are glad we were able to come this time! I love to travel and I will share more travel videos in the future♡
