I walk through the rose garden at Nakanojo Gardens, my favorite place.
Hello, I’m Ichiro 😊 Today, I’ve come to Nakanojo Gardens in Gunma Prefecture. June 5, 2025. Nakanojo Gardens is a collection of gardens consisting of seven gardens and a farm area. It is a rare “garden-centric” strolling garden in Japan. It opens at 9:00 a.m. The camera overheated, so I changed the settings and restarted the walk. The variable admission fee is 1,500 yen at the highest. I came on the exact same day as last year, but it seems like the flowers bloomed a bit later this year, so they were about 2-3 days away from full bloom. 😅 Let’s walk around clockwise. You can see the greenhouse, but they sell flower seedlings inside, not display flowers for viewing. Next to it is the entrance to the Rose Garden. This Rose Garden is the latest garden designed by Takashi Kawai, who is the supervisor of the Yokohama English Garden featured in the previous video. This is my favorite rose garden out of all the ones I’ve seen.😊 There are so many buds!😅 I actually wanted to come next week, but it looks like the rainy season is about to start, so I came today. 😅 The weather is perfect. 😊 The rose garden is divided into seven sections, each with its own colors and atmosphere. The first section is called the “Promenade Gallery.” Along the winding path, not only roses but also flowering trees and flowers are planted. This is the largest garden. Next is the “Japanese Garden.” The structures and plantings create a modern Japanese image. “Garland Garden” A garland is a string-like decorative item. This may be the most popular garden. Sorry, it’s not in full bloom yet😅 Please forgive me, considering the blue sky🙏 It seems that a lot of skill and effort went into making the rope lines look beautiful. “Yellow Garden” This garden is in full bloom ✌️ A pop and cute garden surrounded by blue fences. “White Garden” This is the “Spiral Field.” “Chocolate Garden” This is a garden with antique-colored tones. And finally, the “Rose Terrace.” You can enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while admiring the roses. We have seen seven sections with different atmospheres, and that concludes the Rose Garden. Let’s continue on to see the other gardens. Next is the Townspeople’s Flower Bed (West). The flower bed of the townspeople by the townspeople for the townspeople. These are roses planted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Japan as a symbol of friendship. There is no membership fee for the Townspeople’s Flower Bed, and the town provides a subsidy for maintenance. All town residents can enter the Nakanojo Gardens for free. I want to move here… There are about 100 plots in the Townspeople’s Flower Bed. “Spiral Field” The red flowers are poppies. The wheat is behind the poppies. In the center of “Spiral Field” is “Spiral Garden.” The spiral-shaped plantings are raised beds surrounded by stone walls, allowing visitors to enjoy the flowers from a high vantage point. Today, I tried changing the camera settings, but it overheated after 20 minutes.😅 I really wanted to shoot my favorite rose garden in the highest quality this camera can offer. 😅 I love trial and error. 😅 “Hometown” This area was created with the hope that visitors would feel the “hometown” they imagine in their own minds. Next is the Natural Garden. The plants in the Spiral Garden and Natural Garden were planted by gardener Keiko Yoshiya. On the right is “Relaxation Forest” and on the left is “Nakanojo Farm.” The farm grows apples and roses for processing. The red hut where workshops are held. “Relaxation Forest” On weekends, bookshelves are set up and visitors can sit on chairs and read books. “Townspeople’s Flower Bed (EAST)” This flower bed is planted by parents and children. This video ends with this flower bed. Thank you for joining me on this walk again. 🙏 It was a pleasant walk. Let’s go for a walk together again next time.😊
Nakanojo Gardens is a collection of gardens consisting of seven gardens and a farm area.
It is a rare strolling garden in Japan where the gardens themselves are the main attraction.
The Rose Garden is the latest garden designed by Takashi Kawai, a rose breeder and supervisor of Yokohama English Garden. Among the many rose gardens, I like this one the best.
Like the Yokohama English Garden, each garden is themed, but here, the structures seem to enhance the beauty of the gardens.
The Yokohama English Garden has 2,200 varieties of roses, totaling 2,800 plants, while this rose garden has 400 varieties, totaling 1,000 plants.
Although the number of roses is smaller, this is my favorite rose garden.

I am just starting the video and notice that the splendour of the blooms doesn't seem to attrack any bees or other pollinators. Maybe they will appear later?
