仙台藩の時代から続く「木遣り」。
もともとは山から木を運ぶときの“掛け声”がルーツ。力仕事の中で生まれた労働歌が、やがて祭りの唄へと昇華していったんです。

Kiyari originated as work songs—rhythmic chants used to carry logs down mountains. Over time, these evolved into songs for festivals, especially for pulling floats through the streets.

青葉まつりでは、江戸風の粋を感じるその歌声が、街の空気を一変させる。
2014年、第30回を記念して復元された「仙台木遣り」は、まさに仙台が誇る伝統の再発見。

At Sendai’s Aoba Festival, the powerful chants echo through the streets—revived in 2014 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the festival. It’s a proud rediscovery of Sendai’s samurai-era tradition.
