#173 能登半島 観光名所いろいろ 復興応援の旅#3 / Highlights of Noto Peninsula: Must-See Tourist Attractions

This time, we will visit tourist attractions in Noto Peninsula. I came to Noto Peninsula 5 years ago. I went to various tourist attractions Yoshitsune’s hidden boat Window rock Shiroyone Senmaida Lamp Inn Mitsuke Island Everywhere worth seeing It was a wonderful tourist attraction But now Some have collapsed or closed due to the earthquake I feel again the magnitude of the impact The first destination is Once the “Twin Bridges Noto” are passable I could have gotten there in about 20 minutes. Due to road closure Took an hour to get there in a big turnaround Suddenly, rows of cherry trees in full bloom came into view This is “Noto Sakura Station”. It is an unmanned station, but the parking lot is surprisingly large with 50 cars. You can see how popular it is. On the way to the station building Delicious looking “hanami dango” were being sold Noto Sakura station Noto Kashima station. Station building and platform. There are as many as 100 cherry trees planted The area is crowded with many tourists during the cherry blossom season. I’m going to go to the platform. But first, let’s take a look at the station building. There was a message from Kumamon The platform was crowded with several tourists Cherry blossom trees are planted all over the platform. The station name is “Noto Sakura Station I crossed to the other side of the platform Except for the railroad crossing I don’t have a lot of opportunities to go over the railroad tracks. I’m a little nervous. The cherry blossoms here are in the 1930s when the Nanao Line opened. They started planting trees For a long time after that It must have been loved by the locals. You can keep looking at it forever It’s a magnificent row of cherry blossom trees The next destination is The most famous scenic spot in Noto Kongo Ganmon Last time I was here I walked to the side of the “Ganmon” This time to enjoy the beauty of the formations by the rough waves of the Sea of Japan We decided to take a cruise ship. Going down the long steep stairs to the landing This is the Kongo, the sightseeing boat we boarded this time. The sightseeing boat departs from the landing place Ganmon Hawksbill rock We will go around in the order of Goban Island. The boat is chartered The weather was good, but We were swept away by the rough seas of the Sea of Japan Iwamon gate is coming into view on the left Ganmon was scraped by waves 15m long and about 6m high It’s a big rock tunnel. A small boat can go through the tunnel. The boats are too big to go through Turn back here From the gate-like shape made by nature Meaning “rock” and “gate They named it “Ganmon,” which means “rock gate. There is a promenade on the top of “Ganmon” and you can enjoy a great view. Next is “Takanosu Iwa” (Hawk’s Nest Rock) The height is 27m The top is flat and looks like a nest, which makes it look like a nest. It is called “hawk’s nest. The next “goban island” seen next is It’s 15 meters high. Yoshitsune and Benkei It is said that they enjoyed playing Go here. The island is a basalt They say it’s made of columnar joints After a while, Fukuura Port comes into view Here is the oldest wooden lighthouse in Japan This lighthouse is wooden and octagonal Built in 1876 Yes, the same shape lighthouse. I think I saw it in a period drama It was about a 20 minute ride I enjoyed the roughness of the Sea of Japan Next, more than 2100 years of history We have come to one of the oldest shrines in Hokuriku The first shrine in Noto province Keta Taisha. There is a magnificent torii gate at the entrance to the precincts of the shrine. This is the second torii gate The first torii gate is unfortunately It was removed in 2021 due to aging The name “Ke-ta” means A place where a lot of chi gathers “a place where there is much spiritual and vital energy” meaning “a place with a lot of spirituality and life force”. When you enter the precinct You can feel the spirit of it right away Just to the left of the approach There is “Yoro Daikoku Zo Dokuin Dian (Hall of Dedication for the Statue of Yoro Daikoku)”. Prosperity in business, good harvest, marriage, etc. Said to bring a wide range of blessings. I prayed with a wish The shrine gate came into view Komainu guarding the shrine gate They are sitting on the left and right with their chests out Shinmon gate is designated as a national important cultural property. The hall of worship can be seen behind the gate. The hall of worship was built around 1653 The roof is made of gabled roof. Designated as a national important cultural property Shiawase Musubi Sho” is on the left side of the hall of worship. Left side of the main shrine is “Wakamiya Jinja Honden And then I followed the order of worship to the main hall of the shrine. The main shrine is at the back of the hall of worship, and the Hakusan Shrine main building is next to it. I visited this shrine, too. This is the Forest of No Entry. The “forest without entrance” extends behind the main shrine. About 3.6 hectares of virgin forest It has been a sacred, forbidden place for many years They say it’s a special place where nature and faith coexist This is Futotama shrine This is a shrine dedicated to “Futotama-no-Mikoto”. Industrial prosperity is one of the benefits. Textile protection There is technological improvement And then there’s Sugawara Shrine Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning, is enshrined here. Blessings are Success in entrance examinations, academic achievement, calligraphy improvement Progress in performing arts, protection from bad luck. Students preparing for entrance examinations. Many people visit the shrine. I also got a red seal of Keta-taisha shrine Next stop was This is Thirihama Nagisa Driveway You can drive through the surf here. It is known as the only sandy beach road in Japan Total length of this road is about 8km, and it is quite challenging to drive. But here also after the earthquake It was closed for about two months It is now open to traffic However, due to weather and waves The road may be closed to traffic on the official website before passing through. It is necessary to check the traffic status Even if you came all the way here If you can’t get through, it’s disappointing, isn’t it? In fact, this is also the day It was closed to traffic in the morning. I checked just before and it was changed to partially passable I was lucky It’s not often that I get a chance to run on a sandy beach I don’t know if my tires will get stuck. I’m running with worry At a place like this I don’t want you to get into the sand, because I don’t want you to get into the sand. I also passed a motorcycle I’m worried about the handlebars getting caught. That’s all we were able to pass this day It was a sandy beach drive of about 8 minutes The road was under construction in several places on the way It’s clear that the recovery is still ongoing We hope to be back to where we were a day ago. Thank you again for watching! Thank you very much for your continued support.
