冬の北海道 道東3泊4日の旅【1日目】
Nice to meet you, I’m Fuu. I love traveling, and I’ve been mainly taking photos up until now, but I opened this channel because I wanted to record beautiful scenery and landscapes on videos. I don’t like crowded places, so I often go to places where I can enjoy nature in peace. I’m traveling enjoying the randomness of discovering interesting places and also enjoying to go with the flow. In this channel, I’ll be introducing not only the scenery from my travels and walks, but also the shops I’ve stopped by. So I’d be happy if you could let me know your recommended spots in the comments section. I’d also appreciate it if you could let me know what you think of the videos in the comments. This is the start of the main story. This video is the first day of a 3-night, 4-day trip to the Hokkaido/Eastern Hokkaido area. The final destination of the day is Nakashibetsu. We left Kushiro Airport in a rental car. First, head to the Biwase Observation Deck where you can see a panoramic view of Cape Kiritappu. The North Pacific Seaside Line which stretches from Kushiro to Nemuro is a scenic road along the coast, and Route 142 which is a part of it also called the difficult-to-read place name route. It’s a fun route to take while taking the difficult-to-read place name quiz (I get the answers wrong every time.) I was a little worried about the record-breaking heavy snow that had fallen the week before, but the snow removal was well underway and the roads were easy to ride, probably because of the weather. The sky was really nice and blue, like a summer sky. I took Route 44 from Route 142 and stopped at the roadside station Akkeshi Gourmet Park for a restroom break and to buy some snacks. Huh? a public holiday… No wonder there were so few cars. I proceeded forward with my hair being pulled back by the mysterious dancing bro that is famous for Gourmet Park. I bought some snacks at Seicomart in Akkeshi. After passing through Akkeshi, I entered Route 123 from Route 44. I continued along the North Pacific Seaside Line. As the name suggests, this Seaside Line runs along the coast, But the road is often a mountain road where you can’t see the sea. However, the scenery is not boring, and it is one of my favorite roads because there is little traffic. Depending on the season, sea fog tends to form in this area which can reduce visibility. On the other hand, it is perfect route for driving on a sunny day like this. The sea looks so beautiful. There were quite a few places along the way where I could see the sea. I couldn’t see and missed recording videos while I was preparing my camera. There was also a place where there were many Steller’s sea eagles flying around, although it was too far away to record videos with my camera. I entered Hamanaka town. The whole area around here is part of Akkeshi Kiritappu Konbu Mori Quasi-National Park. It was designated as a Quasi-national park in 2021 and It is the first Quasi-national park established in Hokkaido in 31 years. There are Kiritappu Wetland and Bekanbeushi Wetland, sea cliffs such as Cape Kiritappu and many wildlife species. We didn’t have enough time to pass through this time, but It can be said that it is an area full of attractions. We are just a few steps away from the Biwase Observation Deck. We have arrived at the Biwase Observation Deck. From the south side of the observation deck, we can see the entire Pacific Ocean. The contrast between the snow and the blue sky is so nice. From the south side of the observation deck, we can see the Kiritappu Wetland and the Bubiwase River meandering through the wetland spreads out below. The Kiritappu Wetland is also called the Flower Wetland because of the diversity of its vegetation. The snowy scenery is beautiful, but I would like to take a closer look during the green season. I made a slight U-turn because there was a herd of sika deer in front of the observation deck. The sika deer came into view. The deer in the grove are hard to see because the colors are assimilated with the trees. Ah, I scared them. Sorry. The snowy field with a view of the ocean and the sika deer are quite a picturesque sight. Should I take some photos around here as well? Continuing along Route 123. We’re approaching the town of Biwase. From the fork ahead, we can go to Cape Kiritappu, but I will pass it this time. The coastline that runs along Kiritappu Wetland has a great view and you can really feel the essence of Hokkaido. The sea is much closer. According to the touring mapple that I use as a companion on my Hokkaido trip, this area is a scenic road with a beautiful contrast of blue and green. Not only in summer but also in winter, the scenery is no less spectacular. Our next destination is Cape Nosappu, the easternmost tip of Hokkaido. As soon as we go a little inland, the road becomes snowy. It feels like we’re driving through Hokkaido in the winter. We often encounter wild animals while driving on roads like this. We couldn’t take any videos, but a little while ago I also saw an Ezo raccoon dog lounging on the roadside. As an animal lover, I would like to meet many animals, but I can’t help to feel like it’s dangerous to stay roadside for the animals at the same time. I found it. After all, I passed through the Nemuro city area and entered Route 35, taking the northern route of the Nemuro Peninsula. I got a bit hungry after entering Nemuro City. I stopped by Taiei, a local convenience store, and ate the famous yakitori bento. Speaking of yakitori bento, the Hasegawa store in Hakodate is the original, when I came to Nemuro for the first time, I couldn’t believe that I could eat yakitori bento in such a remote place! when I looked into it, I found out that Taiei is a shop that branched off from Hasegawa Store. The taste was the same as Hasegawa Store’s Yakitori bento, and it was very delicious. The weather was getting a little bad. The distance from Nemuro city to Cape Nosappu is about 20 km. It takes about 30 minutes by car. On the way, there is a northern primeval flower garden where you can enjoy a wide variety of plants from early summer to autumn. There are also many ponies roaming free in the park, so it might be nice to interact with them in the winter. By the way, there are many sika deer roaming around this area, so you need to be careful when driving. We arrived at Cape Nosappu. The wind is a little strong. Let’s go to the tip of the cape. Maybe because it’s a weekday, there aren’t many people walking. If the weather is nice, I could see Kunashiri Island, but unfortunately I couldn’t see it this time. Cape Nosappu is famous for being the place where you can see the sunrise earliest in Hokkaido. I heard that there is a bus for looking New Year’s first sunrise on New Year’s Day. I would like to see the first sunrise from this place someday. It’s faint, but you can see the Kaikajima Lighthouse and a small island. After leaving Cape Nosappu, I headed for Nakashibetsu, where I would be staying for the day. We planned to take the same route to Nemuro as we came and then head to Nakashibetsu via Routes 44 to 243. From here on, we will show you a highlight video of the road to Nakashibetsu. A short detour on the way to Nakashibetsu. How was the video of the first day of your 3-night, 4-day trip to eastern Hokkaido in winter? We would be happy to hear your thoughts. See you in the next video.
