2024 5 7 Photo Located in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Ito Hirobumi was born in 1841 to a farming family in what is now Hikari City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. His father was adopted into the Ito family, who were the head of the Hagi domain, and this house was his base until he was appointed governor of Hyogo Prefecture in 1868. It is a nationally designated historic site.
