飯坂温泉の桃源郷 満開の花々が彩る風景 花ももの里 (福島県福島市)
Iizaka Onsen Hanamomo no Sato in Fukushima City, Fukushima Prefecture is a famous flower spot that opened in 2007 under the guidance of Masao Yoshida, a former professor at the Faculty of Agriculture of Utsunomiya University, as part of a joint research project with the university. City land was rented in the fall of 2003, and approximately 200 trees of 40 varieties collected by Yoshida from around the world were planted on the 40-are site.
In 2019, the grounds were expanded to 80 ares and the number of peach trees was increased by 100 to about 300, making the garden larger than before and well-known as a tourist attraction in Iizaka Onsen in the spring.
The garden is filled with colorful flowers in red, pink, white, and other colors, and since Hanamiyama in the same city is also known as a paradise, Hanamomo no Sato is also known as Iizaka Onsen’s paradise.
In addition, during the opening hours of Hanamomo no Sato, the pink flowers will be lit up in a fantastical way from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
福島県福島市「飯坂温泉花ももの里」は、元宇都宮大学農学部前教授吉田雅夫氏の指導により同大学との共同研究として、平成15年秋に市有地を借り受け、吉田氏が世界中から集めた40品種を、40アールの敷地に約200本植栽し、平成19年にオープンした花の名所です。
2019年には敷地を80アールに拡張し、花桃の木も100本多い約300本に増やして、以前よりも規模を大きくした事から、春の飯坂温泉郷の観光名所としてもよく知られるようになりました。
園内には赤・ピンク・白・咲き分けなどの色とりどりの花が咲き、同市内にある花見山が桃源郷と呼ばれている事から、花ももの里は飯坂温泉の桃源郷とも呼ばれています。
また、花ももの里開園期間中18時から21時までは、桃色の花々を幻想的に彩るライトアップも実施されます。
