Visiting Naoshima “Art” Island in Japan
A quick guide on how to visit Naoshima Island in the south of Okayama, Japan.
Tips going to Naoshima Island:
1. Buy your RT ferry ticket, you can use it in both ports in the island
2. Overnight stay in the island if you are not in a hurry. There are affordable ryokan in the island and Benesse have their own hotel where you can access exclusive for guest areas
3. Book your Chichu Art Museum and Benesse House Museum advance. Visit their website for more information
4. Get the Guide Map when you arrive in the island to help you navigate on food, museum, direction, bus route, etc
5. Bring food to the island specially if you are staying overnight. Most restaurants, cafes, museums closed before 7PM
6. Always start early in the morning when going to the island specially for a day trip
7. If you are going on a day trip, book a room either in Uno Port or Okayama
