Canadian here. In the spring when the "ferns" pop out of the ground they are picked. They are called fiddleheads. They are cooked with oil and garlic. Delicious.
Come on guys….you could have done this trip in Trudy….when are you going in deep to the jungle?….you have the car for it?…there's jungle and villages all around you ::) Hope to see an adventure soon.
Congratulations on 200k ❤ beautifully done ❤. This episode had left me hungry 😅 Chris you should be a food Critic 😅
Hi Chris and Marianne! Try the voices with the Minions on Waze. Have fun!
I caught a glimpse of dark, stormy sky in your video and it reminded me of when there’s a rainstorm where I live in South Florida. Everything looks so much greener against a dark sky. I absolutely love it!❤
Thx for the latest to us video, nothing makes me want to visit, but you've shown us somewhere we'll never go. Interesting, never knew Borneo and neighbouring Countries were so developed and spoilt to some extent. X
here in canada we call them fidleheads not firns because they are shape like a fidle head
AH! That curry house at Padawan is my lunch spot. oh how I wish we met!
Hello Ambassadors
Thank you for sharing this great video.
Lovely peoples and great food. Great scenery.
Interesting scull history. Can you imagine? Everyone is in survival mode even in those times.
Love from. Florida 💕 🥰 💗 🇹🇷🇹🇷
Hope u guys get to stay for Gawai! It is a big festive for the Dayak people in Sarawak. It's a harvest festival celebrated by the indigenous Dayak people that marks the end of the harvest season, the new year, and the beginning of the new rice planting season. It is celebrated from the beginning of June till end of June. But everyone goes back to their longhouse or celebrate with their family on the 1st and 2nd of June.
I always wonder how hot and humid your day is on a daily bases , please do mention the weather in your videos ❤️
It kind of surprises me to observe the similarities in flora of those territories you are visiting compare to my Costa Rica🇨🇷, though fauna is very different. Interesting places, thanks for sharing. 👍
I never miss my favourite show ✌️✌️✌️✌️🇿🇦🇿🇦💐💥💥👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I can’t tell you how sad I am at the CO-OP meal deal I had today.. All day breakfast sandwich Main -Meh. Drink is a drink. But the chicken Satay side – looks like bits of chicken Mc nuggets they found in a bin with some brown “stuff” they passed off as peanut sauce. It’s my own fault, I know how bad it is before I buy it.
Thank you. You present the culture, but more importantly you share the people.
Pillow power for Chris and vegetables for Marianne. 🎉Thanks for another glimpse of the lovely people and places of Borneo. I’m studying your food choices carefully in preparation for our time together. ❤
Congrats on 200k!!!
Wow! 200k!! Congratulations, it is well deserved. I have really enjoyed this series of videos. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe!!
if you still have some time back in Miri or Lawas, do plan a great trip to visit Mulu Caves National Park in the remote mountain area for 3 days…you'd have to take a short flight there so plan ahead to book tickets…
I like a cold pillow too!
Thanks to you two! We love Asia but, have never visited Borneo. The vids are inviting. 💙
Wow, the sunset with the pagoda and the river was magical. And Arthur was a treasure! A wonderful singer and musician whose story would be worth knowing. I sympathize with Chris about the pillows. I used to travel with my own, a squishy, thin feather pillow. : )
the temp after the rain must be very nice especially being surrounded by the forest. there's a hots spring in the village too…
Have you ever been to Kalimantan?
that breakfast is so typical Malaysian 😂 with all the Roti Canai. anyway, do enjoy my hometown, Kuching.
Just love your vids. Awesome to see different cultures, makes me want to start travelling again. When I saw you eat that fern. …. I thought hell….they are native in New Zealand . They called koru , meaning is a symbol of new life, strength and peace lol….. Hope you enjoyed it Marianne…😊❤
Teluk Milano was a famous place to tour…you should visit it..😊
If you have the luxury of time, Travelling Sabah and Sarawak (both East Malaysian States) offer you amazing experience. Sarawak's Pan Borneo Highway (free toll) all the way to Sabah connects both states(the country of Brunei in the middle though). Both states offer quite different landscapes(though both tropical); Sabah with its cool highlands and seaside city while Sarawak is famous for its riverine towns and cities. Like all Malaysian states (peninsular); it is affordable, foods are amazing and cheap, locals speak proper English as English is the second language and formally taught in schools and unis (at least basic conversation). Glad to know you really enjoy the road trip.
Eat….eat…eat..and eat again 😂😂😂
Does the driver feel too fatigued to keep driving after so many days of continuous travel? It’s important to recognize the physical and mental toll such long hours on the road can take.
19:52 Hey, that's me 👋🏻😂 And also Mr. Arthur Borman (Dad) showcase the traditional music by playing the instrument called pratuokng (Bamboo Tube Zither) ❤❤❤
Welcome to my hometown Kuching, enjoy your trip & drive safe
What a splendid episode thank you very much! No wonder you have 200,000 subscribers! Job well done Chris & Marianne!
Watching your videos made me nostalgic because you went to all the places i have been too. It is like a walk back in time but from a different point of view and more recent one too. Thanks…cant wait for the rest of your Sarawak tour. I just hope you get to go to Belaga or Kapit

Marianne, l ate those ferns in Kuching! Never found them anywhere else though. Ah memories! See you next week. 🌈🦘💖
Did you know that Venom fall and crash in Sibu Town in the Venom movie… haha
Congratulations for the 200k subs…like all your video's and i hope u keep making it!And you doing a great job promoting a lot of countries outside there and all the great people's that you've met throughout the journey seems like eye opening for us …thank you and i hope both of you stay healthy and have more great adventures soon…
Sarawak is a great land I’m sure if you visiting here in detail you will even found the uniqueness of each places.
It going to take a little long for traveling.
