Mitocha Farm

Nara, Japan, is one of the most historic tea-producing regions, with a legacy spanning over 1,200 years. Once renowned for its black tea during the Meiji period, Nara’s tea culture has evolved, and today, only a handful of dedicated farmers continue to preserve its traditions.

Meet Mitocha Farm, a small, pesticide-free tea farm in Yamazoe Village, where farmer Yuki Kayashita is reviving the art of traditional Japanese tea. Among the farm’s unique offerings is Kancha, a rare tea harvested only once a year from leaves that have endured the winter, storing a year’s worth of nutrients.

Join us as we explore Mitocha Farm’s commitment to natural farming and the preservation of Japan’s tea heritage.
