季節外れのビジュアルですが、昨年夏に撮影した和歌山県の古座川の水源域の動画です。南紀最高峰の大塔山から湧き出たこの沢は多種多様な生命を育み、植魚の滝やハリオの滝などでご存知の方もいらっしゃるかと思います。近年こういった日本の水源の森が外国資本に買われているという情報をちらほら目にしますが、その目的は水源なのかどうかは定かではありません。ただ、放置林とともに、現代の日本人が誰も見向きもしなくなったこのような山林や水源が、誰かに狙われていることは間違いないでしょう。（古座川の水源域はおそらく資本家には買われていないと思います。）

Forests make up 67% of Japan’s land area, and there are many safe water sources there. The water source of the Kozagawa River that flows through Wakayama nurtures a wide variety of life, and its moss-covered landscape is very soothing to visitors. However, in recent years, it is said that some of these Japanese forests have been purchased by large domestic and foreign capital. Although the purpose and true intentions are unclear, there are concerns about the commercialization of water resources.
