恐山は下北半島の中央に位置する日本を代表する霊場です。比叡山・高野山とともに日本三大霊地の一つに数えられています。また、白山・立山とともに日本三大霊場のひとつにも数えられています。
恐山はカルデラ湖である宇曽利湖とその外輪山を指します。
ここは1200年ほど前に慈覚大師円仁（じかくだいしえんにん）によって開山された霊場です。
Osorezan is a sacred place that represents Japan and is located in the center of the Shimokita Peninsula. It is counted as one of the Three Holy Mountains in Japan along with Mt. Hiei and Mt. Koya.
