Great trip. It's great on one route, you try various Shinkansen. Bit curious, is Yamabiko Shinkansen is equivalent with Kodama Shinkansen in Tokkaido Shinkansen? Since this Shinkansen stopped at all station? It's great you also try brand new E8 Shinkansen, similar like E5/H5 and E6, but with shorter nose.

Some day I WILL get there and enjoy riding on one of those trains. America has nothing on Japan as far as railroads and urban travel are concerned. The transits in places like NYC are open sewers on a good day.
