Matsumoto city Museum of Art
The museum offers some collection exhibitions highlighting the Yayoi Kusama “The place for my soul”, although unfortunately very few works were offered to be photographied. Kusama was born in Matsumoto in 1929. After solo exhibitions in Matsumoto and Tokyo, she moved to the U.S. in 1957, spending 16 years there, mostly in New York. She found expression in polka dots and net paintings. In this exhibition you can experience her roots and present. The also Kumamoto born, winner of the special effects Oscar 2024 for Godzilla, Takashi Yamazaki and the sculptor Hosokawa Munehide complete my sample of this Museum.

El museo ofrece algunas exposiciones de la colección destacando la de Yayoi Kusama “El lugar para mi alma”, aunque lamentablemente muy pocas obras pueden ser fotografiadas. Kusama nació en Matsumoto en 1929. Después de exposiciones individuales en Matsumoto y Tokio, se mudó a los EE. UU. en 1957, pasando 16 años allí, principalmente en Nueva York. Encontró su forma de expresión en lunares y pinturas de red. En esta exposición puedes conocer sus raíces y su presente. Los también nacidos en Kumamoto, ganador del Oscar de efectos especiales 2024 por Godzilla, Takashi Yamazaki y el escultor Hosokawa Munehide completan mi muestra de este Museo.
