That’s one of the most depressing videos you’ve posted.
さみしいですね。世の常なのでしょうか‥ こちらにも、シャッターが下りてしまったお店が何件かある閑散とした商店街(○○銀座通り)が、あります。幼い頃の思い出も、消されてしまうようです。
What can i say? so very very sad. When i visited Japan for the first time in 1985 i stayed near Osaka and was amazed by the hustle and bustle and incredible liveliness of Japan's shopping streets. People everywhere, businesses so busy and and the economy growing so fast. Today these wonderful shoutengai are now just a sad collection of shuttered businesses. I cannot decide which is sadder; Almost dead shoutengai or the thousands of closed shougakkou and chuugakkou in Mitra-san's videos of countryside villages. Wishing Mitra-san a happy Oshougastu and hoping for more interesting ones in the future.
街角の魚屋さんや八百屋さんが市場に変わり、スーパー併用の商店街に成り市民の食生活を長年に渡り支えてきたが自動車の普及とにんげん関係の気薄化と共にその役目を終える。
良いのかどうか、何十年先に分かるのだろうか⁈
It's the same in England – so many shops closed & only service industries still open. And at one time our towns were bustling with people & independant shops.
