Amanohashidate Kasamatsu Park Cable Car – 天橋立 傘松公園 ロープウェイ

——————-There are two cable car (chair lift) services in Amanohashidate, Miyazu, Kyoto, Japan.

One is at the southern side of the bay, called ViewLand, which we filmed in our previous video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s47Y3KMNlzY

The other is at the northern side of the bay, called Kasamatsu Park, which is this video.

To be honest, both are essentially the same. Both offer almost identical views at similar altitudes, and both offer small gift shops and restaurants atop the observatory. ViewLand is closer to the Amanohashidate station and therefore more convenient to visit.

The only reason you might choose to visit Kasamatsu location is because there is actually a trail (approx 0.7 miles) that leads further to the top of the mountain where you can enjoy old temple & tower (called Nariyaji) and trees and such. But you have to take a somewhat infrequent bus which costs a few extra dollars. We walked the 0.7 miles, thinking it’s piece of cake, but oh boy, it’s actually super steep hill, so it got us exhausted.

And the temples were underwhelming. Especially if you are visiting Amanohashidate, likely you come from Kyoto where you also visit many impressive temples, so you can kinda skip this one unless you have plenty of time.

天橋立、傘松公園ロープウェイ（モノレール）に乗ります。

天橋立には、２つロープウェイ展望サービスがあります。

（１）天橋立 ビューランド
天橋立公園の南側に位置し、駅からも徒歩5分。前回の動画で訪れました。

（２）天橋立 笠松公園
天橋立公園の北側に位置します。今回の動画で訪れます。

正直な感想としては、天橋立ビューランドのモノレールと全く同じです。
どちらも約7分で展望台に到着します。頂上から見える景色もほぼ同じ。
どちらもお土産売店、レストランがあります。ビューランドには、子供が遊べるスペースやメリーゴーランドなどもあり充実しています。

あえて笠松公園のロープウェイを訪れる理由があるとすれば、
・天橋立公園の北側まで来て、この近くで観光スポットを探している
・展望台から、さらに１km 山道を登ると成相寺がある。個人的に興味があって登ってみましたが、うむ、変哲のないお寺で、特別な感動はありませんでした。むしろ１kmの道のりが急な斜面の道で足腰への負担が強いです。数百円で乗れる有料バスもありますが、頻度が少ないので諦めました。
