【紅葉2024】ぶらり旅 第483回「岡山県:豪渓&宝福寺」-アクセス,駐車場,渓谷,名勝地,寺,三重塔,雪舟,総社市- Gokei and Hofukuji Temple,Okayama
ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2024年12月に岡山県総社市にある「豪渓」「宝福寺」に行きました。
・豪渓
高梁川支流の槇谷川が花崗岩の台地を深く削って懸崖を形作り、主峰の天柱山（海抜330m）をはじめ、剣峰・雲梯峰など奇岩怪岩が天を突くようにそびえ立ち、訪れる人の目を驚かせます。
秋には渓流沿いの木々が美しく色づく紅葉の名所です。
花崗岩の年代の古さと変化に富んだ形態は他に例をみないといわれ、岡山県を代表する名勝地として、 大正１２年国の指定を受けました。

駐車場：普通車40台、大型車3台
・宝福寺
宝福寺は臨済宗東福寺派の寺院で、本山京都東福寺と結びつきが強く、地方の中でも有力な禅宗寺院です。
古くは天台宗の寺院でしたが鎌倉時代中頃に県内ではいち早く臨済宗に改宗しました。
また、雪舟が幼少の時、この井山宝福寺において涙で鼠を描き、和尚さんを大いに感心させたエピソードはあまりにも有名です。
建造物では三重塔が最も古く解体修理の際、永和二年（1376）の墨書銘が発見されています。
この塔は岡山県下二番目の古塔としても貴重です。

I’d like to introduce some places I visited on a whim.
In December 2024, I visited Gokei and Hofukuji Temple in Soja City, Okayama Prefecture.
・Gokei
The Makitani River, a tributary of the Takahashi River, cuts deep into the granite plateau to form cliffs, and the strange rocks such as Tenchuzan (330m above sea level), Kenbo and Undaibo, tower into the sky, surprising visitors.
In autumn, the trees along the stream turn beautiful colors, making it a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves.
The granite’s age and varied shapes are said to be unparalleled, and it was designated by the national government in 1923 as a scenic spot representing Okayama Prefecture.

Parking: 40 spaces for regular cars, 3 spaces for large vehicles
・Hofukuji Temple
Hofukuji Temple is a temple of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism, with strong ties to its head temple, Tofukuji Temple in Kyoto, and is a powerful Zen temple in the region.
It used to be a Tendai temple, but in the mid-Kamakura period it was one of the first temples in the prefecture to convert to the Rinzai sect.
The story of Sesshu, who drew a mouse with his tears at Iyama Hofukuji Temple as a child and greatly impressed the priest, is also well-known.
The three-story pagoda is the oldest structure, and during dismantling and repair work, an ink inscription from 1376 was discovered.
This tower is also valuable as the second oldest tower in Okayama Prefecture.
