STOCKHOLM SWEDEN TRAVEL GUIDE – Everything to SEE and DO in ONE DAY

We spend the day in Stockholm the capital city of Sweden.

We explore as many sites and tourist attractions as possible including the Vasa Museum, the Abba Museum, the Old Town and even have a walking tour with a Viking!

We start the day at our hotel, the Good Morning Arlanda Hotel after arriving into Stockholm the night before. We then catch the Arlanda Express train from the Airport to the City Centre, the journey only takes 18 minutes.

We catch a tram to the island of Djurgården where we visit the Vasa Museum. The Vasa Museum displays the only almost fully intact 17th-century ship that has ever been salvaged, the 64-gun warship Vasa that sank on her maiden voyage in 1628. The Museum also featured a Lego themed exhibit called Brickwrecks.

From here we walk to the Abba Museum. ABBA The Museum is an interactive museum that houses Abba memorabilia including instruments, clothes and even vehicles. You can even become the fifth member of ABBA by performing on their large stage.

To get from Djurgården island to Gamla Stan (Old Town) island we catch a ferry that only takes a few minutes. In the Old Town we take a short break and enjoy an ice cream before starting a free Viking Walking Tour around the city by our Guide Alex. We had lunch at a burger place before setting out to walk around the city ourselves and explore.

When the day was starting to come to an end we took the Arlanda Express back to the Airport and got the internal bus to where we would be sleeping, The Jumbo Stay Hotel. This is a unique Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet that has been converted into a hotel.

We spent the evening sitting on the wing enjoying the sunset.
