Sakura’s Autumn Festival has a long history dating back to the Edo period, and features the large portable shrine of Magata Shrine, one of the largest in Chiba Prefecture, as well as floats and sacred sake shrines, which parade through the castle town, resembling a key hand, accompanied by chants of “Essa no Korasano Essasa” to the accompaniment of Sakura music. Currently, it is held as a joint festival of four shrines, including Magata Shrine, Atago Shrine, Shinmei Shrine, and Hachiman Shrine.
