JAPAN HAS CHNGED | TOP 10 New Things to Know Before Traveling to Japan in the fall of 2024
Japan is experiencing a surge in foreign tourists right now. In August 2024, visitor numbers were up by 36% compared to last year, and even 16.4% higher than pre-COVID. With this surge in tourism, several changes have emerged—some positive, some challenging, but all essential for your trip.
Some of these changes are exciting! For instance, new seasonal events are lined up for autumn, and the shift from summer to autumn brings plenty of perks for travelers.
But, there are also things to be mindful of, like the newly announced regulations for Halloween this year and concerns about Seven-Eleven, a favorite among tourists, facing acquisition uncertainty.
Additionally, Japan has a new Prime Minister, and this change could have significant implications for foreign travelers.
In this video, I’ll share 10 essential updates you should know before traveling to Japan this autumn, along with three new services I’ve launched to help make your trip smoother and more enjoyable.
By watching this video, you’ll be better prepared to navigate Japan and make the most of your trip. So, make sure to watch till the end!

Hi Toshi! I’ve been in Japan for 5 days now! So far, it’s a great experience to go again! Once again, thank you for the weekly video updates! Your video on the IC card options helped me a lot and I’m using Suica on the phone! Thanks again!
Thank you for another upload!! I’m literally on a plane heading to Tokyo! Your tips helped me immensely!
As for 7-11, I hope the Couche-Tard firm leaves the stores alone in Japan and actually reproduce them here in Canada. It would be a million percent improvement than what is currently here.
A Ramen Festival during my stay? Hell yes. Going to check it out
Love the video thank you for info as always
Can you share more information or links to the Osaka Danjiri Festival? There is no info about the Nov 2-3 festival. As far as I saw there was one on September… and in Nov 3rd, there will be Midosuji festival…
Amazing video, Mr. Toshi, thank you for your support and advises. My family and I are very happy with them. Great job.
I am in Tokyo right now trying to enjoy my vacation, but I am FUMING right now because I got scammed by a travel agency! I prepaid >$7K back in March for a 12-day trip and thought all my reservations/events are confirmed by now (in October). But, as I sit here in Tokyo, there has been absolutely no effort from this travel agency to communicate who's my tour guide the next day, they are completely unempathetic to my needs as a first-timer in Japan, nor providing any help on logistics! I have been paying out-of-pocket for transportation, meals… EVERYTHING the last 4 days! Like WTF did my $7K buy me exactly!?? I have taken tours in the past before, and this agency (UME Travel) is an absolute SCAM of the higest order! If you're planning to come to Japan, please be EXTREMELY cautious of UME Travel! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! 😡😡😡
I am currently in japan for my trip and i am loving it. Great weather and amazing food from 711❤
Weather change—> I'm flying on Monday and I still don't know how to dress 😂
The danjiri matsuri in Osaka? But isn't it taking place in Kishiwada in September? More info please 🥺I want to go to a matsuri 😭From October 31st to November 2nd I will be in Kyoto.
Konichi-Wa from Germany! Rules Luggage Shinkansen: how can the train crew control who´s suitcase has a reservation or not? Where to put your suitcase if its not to big? Arigato! Andreas
Nothing beat a native Japanese telling us about Japan 😅☝️👍
Good information.tell me Apple 16 pro maz Available
Osaka Danjiri festival is Nov 2nd and 3rd. Are you sure?
Amazing updates, Mr Toshi, I hope the new minister will not modify the rules that much. I will be staying in Japan next year in July late to early August, any ideas or videos I should watch before I go?
I hope the Canadians don't ruin Japanese 7-11
Given the delays in construction (and lack of flying cars), I can't imagine the Osaka Expo is going to be that successful.
Do we still need to get a QR code from Visit Japan Web to go through immigration when we arrive in Japan?
I returned from a vacation in Japan yesterday. It was a wonderful experience both for its beauty and the wonderful people. I love America, but we could take lessons from that Japanese in how to treat others and how to run big cities. I look forward to my next visit.
Regarding autumn weather, in October this year, the temp was in the high 70’s most days while I was there, but the humidity made it feel much warmer, I regretted not packing any shorts, especially since many of the sights required a good deal of steps and walking uphill.
Is danjiri festival at kishiwada castle or Osaka castle? I’m seeing conflicting things online…
Nice 👍 informative

As a foreigner who reserved Shinkansen luggage a few days ago, someone put a folded bicycle on purpose behind my seat. I ended up put it above my own luggage, and when I saw the owner was a Japanese, i feel kinda disappointed.
