The Saijo Sake Festival was held again this year in Saijo, Hiroshima, and we participated in the festival as we did last year. One of the largest sake festivals in Japan attracted a whopping 230,000 visitors over the two days!
It was a pity that John-san, who was very active last year, could not come to Japan. But Mark-san, who we met last year, participated for the third time from Australia! We filmed the two days of excitement in the entire city again this year, focusing on Kamoizumi Shuzo’s space.
This event attracts not only locals, but sake lovers from all over Japan. There were also many foreign tourists and international students from the neighborhood. Please enjoy this sake and food festival. 🍶

The Sake Festival in Saijo, Hiroshima, is a large-scale sake-themed event held every October in Saijo, Higashi-Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The festival is loved by locals and tourists alike, and has grown to become one of Japan’s leading sake festivals. Saijo, where the Sake Festival takes place, has long been known as a “sake capital” and is home to many sake breweries. Saijo’s sake brewing began in earnest during the Meiji period (1868-1912), and the rich water quality and cold climate are ideal for sake brewing, which has earned it a high reputation throughout the country. Every year, local sake breweries and other sake brewers from all over Japan participate in the festival, which includes a tasting area where visitors can enjoy more than 1,000 varieties of sake and other sake-related events. In addition, each brewery offers special limited-edition sake, making the Sake Festival a popular luxury sake tasting experience.
