Join me on a flight in The Residence, the world’s most expensive plane “seat”. The Residence is a step beyond First Class and the only three-room suite on a passenger aircraft, featuring a private bedroom, ensuite bathroom with shower, and a living room.

The Residence is exclusively available on Etihad Airways’ A380 aircraft on routes between Abu Dhabi, London and New York. In this video, I take you on a 8 hour flight from Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow. The video also includes a tour of Etihad’s new First Class lounge at Abu Dhabi.

Keep watching till the end for some spectacular drone footage!

  1. Can we spend more time in the plane, instead of the lounge?!?!

That would be nice. Also, how about filming, as you look out the window, instead of the TV screen

  2. Oh how I wish I was rich enough to fly this planes first class. It's hands down the most amazing first class way to travel I have ever seen before!

  3. I really like your videos but miss your comments. How was lounge food? What did you select as meals on the flight? It just seems disconnected in a way.

  4. I’ve flown first class on a QANTAS A380 from Melbourne to Dubai but that product completely pales in comparison to Etihad’s First Class let alone The Residence.

  5. What I find most interesting to think about is who else may have travelled in The Residence over the years.

  6. So, going by the video, you didn't fly in The Residence, you just filmed it, is that right? Because it's all quite untouched and First Class appears empty so I assume you flew Business. Or, god forbid, Economy! Having said that, though, it's still quite a stunning space for a SYD-AUH leg.

  7. All that for a maximum 16 hours in the sky. Getting to be ridiculous for the common man. This is for the wannabe rich but can’t afford your own jet. Money best spent elsewhere.

  8. Love that you really took your time showing every aspect of your flight. Feels like we were right there with you! From one luxury travel creator to another, thank you for sharing your incredible work ♥

  9. Economy class looks good too. One of those airlines that manages to offer a bit of luxury to passengers traveling on all budgets.

  10. I watch other channels that focus on high end travel and this was by far the worst video/channel I've seen. Your reflection in the screen with your phone covering your eyes was creepy. Your hands are not pleasant to look at. The music is unbearable and you linger on things for way too long, like the face of the menu book. I won't be watching again.

  11. Etihad REALLY needs some advice on what makes a great First class lounge. What I saw was not a great first class lounge.

  12. Flown with Etihad in BC. A few times. Never been overly impressed. Don’t get me wrong it’s better than flying economy. But I still think Qatar and Emirates with a course by course meal and their meal offerings were just as good as your Etihad First class means they win. And even the Qatar and Emirates A380 lounges seem bigger with more offerings. The London Qatar lounge is a combined First and BC lounge so what they had to do was you got a raised offering for BC as well (restaurant, off menu ordering etc) that is actually better than I found many other BC lounges. Would i fly Eithad again – yes if someone else was paying. But I would spend my own money on Qatar or Emirates before Eithad.

  13. One thing is certain — the Arabs like to flaunt their money. When the oil dries up, they'll be in a world of hurt.

  14. With a separate, private bedroom, they should start a Mile High Sky Miles Club. People would have enough miles in no time.

  15. One way tickets from $24,000 to $38,000. At this point it's literally cheaper to charter a private jet.
*Edit: Apparently those were pre-pandemic numbers, the upgrade is now offered to select first-class passengers and costs around $2,000 – $4,000 (on top of regular airfare, I presume).

  17. Thank you once again for showing all the amenities of these flights and fare classes without inserting yourself into it with stupid look at me pikachu and soyfaces.

  18. Hardly anyone can afford 1st class anymore so they made good use of space for even richer travellers who think 1st class is too rustic.
