8K 青い滝(新得町) Blue Falls(Shintoku Town)
新得町の道道718号線でトムラウシ温泉東大雪荘に向かう途中、「曙橋」を渡らずにその手前を右に曲がった所に車を停めて歩くこと約1㎞の所に冬になると姿を現す「青い滝」がある。夏の間は湧水が岩肌を静かに流れる程度であまり目立たないが、冬になるとそれが少しずつ凍りつき見事な氷瀑となる。見頃は氷点下10℃以下が続く1月中旬から2月末頃までである。
In Shintoku Town, Hokkaido, there is a frozen waterfall known as the “Blue Waterfall” that only appears in winter. During the summer, spring water flows quietly down the rock face, but from mid-January to the end of February, when the temperature remains below -10°C, the spring water gradually freezes and becomes a magnificent frozen waterfall.
