I was lucky to visit Kuonji Temple twice back in 2016 & 2017 and stayed at small temple lodging in the area in order to attend early morning service at main temple. On the last visit we were greeted by Kuonji temple head master ( headmaster was 90 year old at 2017). He invited us to the room to offer tea, cookies and little talk. After we head out to corridor to exist, the master had 2 monks ran after us to offer everyone a gift bag which
has a pair of sock and a small bath towel has Kuonji Temp name embroidered on it; that was a touch of the head master. I was over joy to meet the headmaster on the last visited. I felt a sense of serenity walked on Temple ground and Okunoin place.
