Japan’s Snowiest Place in One Day – Sukayu Onsen & a Bullet Train in a Blizzard☃️
Experience one of the snowiest places in Japan on a day trip from Tokyo to Sukayu Onsen in Aomori prefecture , famous for its 5-meter snowfall.
I traveled from Tokyo to Shin-Aomori by Tohoku Shinkansen.
After Sendai, the landscape transformed into a white world as the bullet train raced through heavy snow at 320 km/h.
From Shin-Aomori Station, I took a JR bus into the mountains.
Even Aomori City was buried in deep snow before reaching Sukayu Onsen.
Sukayu is known for:
• Extreme snowfall (over 5 meters)
• Historic wooden ryokan
• Famous mixed-gender bath “Hiba Sennin Buro”
• True Japanese winter atmosphere
I filmed:

八甲田山の八甲田ロープウエイ、城ヶ倉ホテル、酸ケ湯温泉、ホテル八甲田へ行く道路はどんな豪雪でも絶対に２４時間道が除雪される青森プライドがあそうです。全国のテレビキャスターがどんな豪雪日でもタクシーで気軽に行けることから毎年冬には酸ヶ湯温泉の積雪ニュースだらけになりますね。日本人なら一年に一回もしくは冬は必ず千人風呂の混浴につかるのがラッキーを呼ぶと思っています。
if you will stay at Sukayu-Ryokan, they will privide you with the free round trip between the aomomori station and the sukayu-onsen. But the day-spa people needs to ride the JR bus.
