Sado Gold Mountain flourished during the Edo period and supported its finances. Gold was mined there for about 400 years until 1989. The mountain has been cut into a V-shape for mining. It was decided to register the mine as a World Heritage Site in July 2024.
江戸時代に繁栄し、幕府の財政を支えた佐渡金山。平成元年まで約400年にわたって金の採掘が行われました。山は採掘によってＶ字型に切り開かれています。2024年7月、世界文化遺産の登録が決まりました。
