Japan’s Wildest Matsuri? Ryuo Shrine’s Epic Battle at Kure City

Every autumn, near Hiroshima, in the city of Kure, a strange tradition takes place that results in the most intense matsuri in Japan.
At the Ryuo Shinto Shrine, men in demon masks go into trance and fight an other group for the gods. This is the Yabu Festival, where tradition meets force.
IIn this video, we join a group dressed in red and yellow, through the streets of Kure City, blessing homes and preparing for the final battle against the yabu, the protectors of the gods: let the Battle of the Shrine begin.
