I stayed at a 130-year-old traditional Japanese house and spent time with two adorable Shiba Inu “staff dogs” — Mer-kun and Pino-kun 🐕🐕💓
They’re incredibly friendly, even with first-time visitors! We went on walks together in the morning and evening, relaxed during the day… and at night, they even curled up in bed with me! 🛏️☺️
Peaceful countryside scenery in the San’in region and fluffy companionship made for the perfect escape.
Though they have very different personalities, both Mer-kun and Pino-kun were absolutely lovable. I hope you enjoy this heartwarming experience through the video!🌿

昔、私の大叔父(父方の祖父の兄)の家にありました。
新年になると、大叔母と祖母と母が餅を搗(つ)く為に、餅米を蒸かしていました。
昔の人はね、今の炊飯器が出来るまでは、これでお米を炊いていたんだよと教えてくれました。
手間は掛かりますが、釜戸で炊いた米は格別です。
5分に1回は可愛い~~~って言った気がします

Pinot and Merlot are such handsome Shibas. I showed them to my mom who absolutely adores them. She thought they were adorable. I also approve of their names (I’m guessing their parents are wine aficionados based on choice of names). I had a part husky (who was also supposedly part Jindo) so seeing Merlot-kun and Pinot-kun reminded me of him. He was quite affectionate and a bit of a talker.
