Kan-Etsu Expressway is a major Japanese expressway connecting Tokyo and Niigata, a coastal city along the Sea of Japan.
This winter drive takes you from Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture to Central Niigata via Kan-Etsu Expressway.
Yuzawa town, which is located after passing 11 km long Kan-Etsu Tunnel, is a famous ski resort in Niigata.
During winter, northwest monsoons from Eurasia gather moisture over the Sea of Japan and collide with the Echigo Mountains, creating the massive snowfall that makes this region a stunning “Snow Country.”

冬の新潟方面は何と無くきついですが、チェーン規制があった場合、冬用タイヤは有利です。普通タイヤは不便気味であります。
