Lake Kussharo (屈斜路湖, Kussharoko) is a beautiful caldera lake in Akan Mashu National Park. With a circumference of 57 kilometers it is the park’s largest lake. Various outdoor activities, such as fishing, hiking, kayaking and cycling, can be enjoyed around the lake.

  3. The swans are seen as a traditional symbol of beauty and grace in ancient Greece, and was sacred to Aphrodite. They are also regarded as sacred to Apollo, the god of music (among other things), in Greek mythology. At the time, the people believed that the swan sang a sweet and beautiful song when people died.
