While the thick blanket of snow created a beautiful landscape, it inevitably made walking a little challenging. Watching travelers struggle with their luggage reminded me that I should probably consider using baggage forwarding services (which are commonly available in Japan) if I visit Hokkaido again in winter, just to avoid the hassle of dragging a luggage through thick snow.

This is a beautiful scenery to see! I was in Otaru last year January 2025 for snowboarding and the snow was not as heavy as over here in Sapporo. Looks like heavy snow and not as light as I’ve experienced it last year. Driving was a little challenging but not impossible. I will visit Nagano in 2 weeks for snowboarding! Crazy amounts of snow 😅 of this was the UK no work no schools and everyone would be indoors Except the kids they love it 😅 Japan seems to cope in these crazy conditions.

I find it so funny how no matter where you go in japan, it could be the middle of nowhere, you will always hear american tourists.. I swear theres more tourists in japan than there are actual citizens.
