Gifu Station Night Walk: Redeveloping Station Front and Yanagase District

Happy New Year!
My first upload of the year is from Gifu Station.

I had been thinking about traveling toward the Tohoku region, but with all the recent news about bears, I decided to change plans and head west instead. The final destination of this trip is Okayama Prefecture.

From Okayama, I passed through Hyogo, Osaka, Nara, and Mie, then made a slight detour by heading north from Mie to Gifu Prefecture. The area in front of Gifu Station is currently undergoing redevelopment, and it looks like the cityscape will change quite a bit in the coming years. I wanted to see it once more before that happens, but many of the shops in the blocks scheduled for demolition have already closed, so the station area feels a bit quiet and empty for now.

As always, I walked over to the Yanagase entertainment district. Since it was a Thursday night, there weren’t many people around, and the streets had a calm, subdued atmosphere.
