皆様、謹んで新年のご挨拶を申し上げます。Kissy’s Kyoto〜キッシー®︎ズ京都のキッシー®︎（株式会社エリアプロモーションジャパン代表取締役社長）です。
令和8年の幕開けとなる今回のライブ配信では、私の地元であり、弊社が拠点を置く京都府大山崎町より、新春の活気ある風景をお届けします。まず訪れたのは、由緒正しき「離宮八幡宮」です。ここは古くから「油座」として知られ、日本の製油発祥の地とも言われる大変歴史の深い場所です。大山崎の名物である天ぷら料理も、この油の歴史に深く根ざしたものです。
大山崎は現在、人口約2万人の静かな町ですが、かつてはこの地に「山城国」の国府（現在の県庁所在地に相当）が置かれていました。桂川・宇治川・木津川の三川が合流するこの地は、古来より交通の要衝であり、水上輸送の拠点となる「山崎の港」や「山崎の渡し」が存在した、まさに「水の都」の玄関口でした。
動画内では、西国街道の面影を残す町並みや、山城国と摂津国の境目を示す「関大明神（石切神社）」、さらには豊かな水源を象徴するサントリー山崎蒸溜所など、歴史と自然が交差するスポットをご紹介しています。なぜこの地に国府が置かれ、現代に至るまで人々を惹きつけるのか。それは、天王山から湧き出る清らかな水の恩恵があったからに他なりません。
後半では、京都のさらなる水源を求めて、淀川（賀茂川・鴨川）の源流とも言われる「岩屋不動（志明院）」への想い、そして歌舞伎『雷不動北山櫻』（歌舞伎十八番「鳴神」「不動」「毛抜」）のルーツとなる地についての文化的な考察にも触れています。

[Live Archive] Kissy’s New Year Visit to Oyamazaki, Kyoto: Exploring Rikyu Hachiman-gu and the Ancient Capital’s Heritage
Happy New Year to all! I am Kissy®︎, President and CEO of Area Promotion Japan Co., Ltd., and welcome to “Kissy’s Kyoto.”
In this first live stream of 2026, I am broadcasting from my hometown, Oyamazaki-cho, Kyoto. Our journey begins at the historic Rikyu Hachiman-gu Shrine. This sacred site is famously known as the birthplace of Japan’s oil industry (Abura-za). Did you know that the local specialty, tempura, is deeply connected to this history of oil production?
While Oyamazaki is now a peaceful town of 20,000, it was once the site of the Yamashiro Province Capital (Kokufu)—the administrative heart of the region, equivalent to a modern prefectural capital. Located where three major rivers meet, it served as a vital transportation hub with the “Yamazaki Port,” acting as the gateway to the ancient capital of Kyoto.
In this video, I walk you through historical landmarks such as:
• The Saigoku Kaido Road: An ancient highway connecting Kyoto to the west.
• Seki Daimyojin: A shrine marking the ancient border between Yamashiro and Settsu provinces.
• Suntory Yamazaki Distillery: A world-renowned site chosen specifically for the high-quality water flowing from Mt. Tenno.
I also discuss the spiritual and cultural significance of water, leading to my next destination: Iwaya Fudo (Shimei-in), the source of the Kamo River and the inspiration for legendary Kabuki plays such as “Narukami” and “Fudo.”
