ここは、三陸復興国立公園の奇岩景観の中でも、ひときわ圧巻とされる三王岩。
高さ約50メートルの「男岩」を中心に、「女岩」と「太鼓岩」が両側に寄り添うようにそびえ立っています。
幾度もの侵食や大津波に耐え、東日本大震災（3.11）の猛威にも屈せず、この地に鎮座し続ける姿は、まさに自然の守護神のよう。
リアス式海岸特有の切り立った断崖に囲まれ、海へは急勾配の階段を降りてようやく辿り着きます。そこに広がる荒波の海岸は、地球そのものの力を全身で感じさせてくれる場所でした。

Here stands Sannōiwa, one of the most breathtaking rock formations in Sanriku Fukko National Park.
At the center rises the towering “Male Rock,” about 50 meters high, flanked on either side by the “Female Rock” and the “Taiko Rock,” standing close as if in companionship.
Having withstood countless ages of erosion and the fury of great tsunamis—including the devastation of the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011—these rocks remain firmly in place, like guardians of nature itself.
Surrounded by the steep cliffs that define Sanriku’s ria coastline, one must descend sharp stairways to finally reach the shore. There, embraced by rugged cliffs and crashing waves, you cannot help but feel the raw, primal power of the Earth itself.
