Akamon Ramen – 50 Years of Family Tradition in Taiki Town, Hokkaido

Akamon Ramen, located in Taiki Town, Hokkaido, has been serving the community for 50 years.
Run by second-generation owner Kazuhiro Kawamura and his wife, the shop remains a local favorite.

Their signature miso ramen carries the legacy of Kazuhiro’s parents, using locally grown vegetables, homemade miso, Snow Brand butter, and noodles from a local producer — each ingredient carefully selected.
Personally, I am also a big fan of their ramen, and I have known Akamon since my TV broadcasting days over 10 years ago, when I first covered the shop.

This video is my way of giving back and sharing the story of this cherished ramen with viewers.

HOKKAIDO LIVE with LOVE (HLL) focuses on capturing the reason behind the flavor through sound, craftsmanship, expressions, and atmosphere rather than flashy effects.

In this video, we explore the secret behind Akamon’s taste and the family story that has kept it alive for 50 years.
