【京都 京丹後】超穴場!源泉かけ流しの温泉宿で鮮度抜群のズワイガニフルコースを堪能/木津温泉/夕日ヶ浦温泉【木津館】
Hello, this is Bubu Tabi! I’m craving some delicious crab again this year! So, today I’m heading to Kizu Onsen in Kyotango! It’s located in the same area as Yuhigaura Onsen, famous for its beautiful sunsets, and the nearest station is the same as Yuhigaura Onsen, Yuhigaura Kizu Onsen Station. This hot spring is said to be Kyoto’s oldest. Today, I’m planning to eat some delicious crab and relax in the hot spring water, which flows directly from the source. So, two and a half hours from Osaka. We arrived at our inn. Established in 1928, it’s my favorite traditional, cozy inn. The landlady greeted us as we checked in. The entrance had a warm and relaxing atmosphere, and the landlady was also very kind and comforting. Kizukan only accepts three groups per day. The price is about the same for all rooms, but we chose a large room with a great view, even though it didn’t have a toilet. It was quite spacious, with 14 tatami mats. The purely Japanese-style, relaxing atmosphere was lovely. It felt like I was back home. We could see the garden from the window. Since it was November, there wasn’t much greenery, but the beautiful garden was soothing. Apparently, plum blossoms bloom from late January to mid-February. The room was equipped with a safe, kettle, TV, refrigerator, and air purifier. Hangers and all the necessary amenities were provided. I’ll save the tea and snacks for later. Even so, this room was incredibly quiet and relaxing. It was located away from the other rooms, so there was no noise and the surrounding area was very quiet. I quietly sipped brown rice tea while admiring the garden. It was a truly luxurious experience. Hot springs. Besides crab, another highlight is the hot springs. Kizu Onsen is known for its skin-beautifying properties. I’m looking forward to experiencing the water. By the way, the sink was right in front of my room. There was also a beautiful toilet with a washlet right next door. The hot springs were also conveniently located next door. Plus, they were open all night, until 9:00 AM. They apparently offer private use on weekdays whenever possible. This was my first time learning about Kyoto’s oldest hot springs. 743 AD was the Nara period! Amazing, isn’t it?! I’m so happy to be able to bathe in such a hot spring. They said I could reserve the bath anytime if it was available today, so I’m looking forward to soaking in it and feeling refreshed. Because it’s a free-flowing hot spring, there’s plenty of hot water. Kizu Onsen’s flow rate is 1,400 liters per minute, said to be the largest in Kyoto Prefecture. Ah, it feels so good. The temperature is just right. The water is a simple alkaline hot spring. It’s smooth and gentle on the skin. With two people in the bath, the water flows luxuriously. Opening the window lets in the fresh air, and I feel like I could stay in the bath forever. Personally, it’s the type of water I really like. I had no idea there was such a great hot spring in Kyoto. Ah, it felt so good. I didn’t really notice it while bathing, but my skin felt so smooth afterwards. I got some water and took a break. Sunset. I have some time before dinner, so I’ll go and watch the sunset for a bit. It’s a five-minute drive to Yuhigaura! Unfortunately, today was like this. There was a slight reddish hue behind the clouds, but I couldn’t see the sunset. However, I did find the Gundam manhole. The innkeeper mentioned that Tango is famous for its dried chirimen (dried chirimen). But the Sea of Japan is cold in November! The surfers are amazing. I should have brought a jacket… We took a commemorative photo and headed back early. My body was so cold, I went back to the inn to warm up. Dinner. The innkeeper called us to a private room for dinner. Today’s plan was a full course of snow crab, with 1.5 crabs per person, plus local crab sashimi, crab tempura, and crab miso tofu. The grilled crab was packed with meat all the way down to the claws. And the crab miso was so good it made me want to drink alcohol just by looking at it. The boiled crab was also large and impressive! This one has a tag attached. I thought we would grill the crab ourselves, but it turns out the innkeeper grilled it perfectly. She gently and skillfully cooked the crab. It’s heartwarming. By the way, the pine leaves placed under the crab are said to add flavor. I’m happy that cooking takes the extra step. I put the lid on and wait for it to be cooked. I’m not much of a drinker on Bubu Tabi, but they had a variety of alcoholic beverages on offer. First, a toast with plum wine. I’m not sure what to eat first, but I’ll start with the sashimi. !!! The squid is delicious! It’s so good I want to eat it as a course! You can tell just by holding it with chopsticks how tender the meat is. It’s rich in fat and fresh. The quality of the sashimi is so high I’m amazed. I’ll also try the crab sashimi with the tag still attached. Apparently, if you chill fresh crab in cold water, it blooms like this. I added just a little soy sauce, and oh my! It was sweet and plump!!! Last year I ate it raw and it was chewy, but I also like the plump sashimi chilled in cold water. 96 01:08:49,942 –> 01:08:53,712 The inn’s specialty, crab miso tofu. It was smooth when I put the spoon in. Oh!? I was expecting it to taste like sake kasu, but it was more like egg tofu with a hint of crab miso! It would make a great snack with alcohol. This tuna tataki was also excellent. The freshness of all the ingredients is particularly noteworthy. By the way, the boiled crab was cut up for easy eating. This one was also generously seasoned with miso. It seems grilled crab is also ready. Wow! It looks so delicious, doesn’t it? And they recommended trying different misos. Apparently, even crabs living in the same place can have different flavors depending on their diet! This one is more watery and more soupy. Maybe it would be good for dipping crab meat in? The other one is thicker and completely different. Wow, this one is super rich!!! I guess I prefer rich crab miso after all. My husband and I both definitely preferred the thicker version. Apparently, the waterier version is perfect with shell sake, and it became my husband’s favorite. Grilled crab is also eaten while it’s still hot. It’s easier to eat if you break it off at the base, as the waitress taught me. !!!!!!!!! The grilled crab was so delicious…! It was so rare and fluffy that it made me wonder if I was always overcooking it! It was so different when they grilled it for me. It was amazing, completely different from grilling it ourselves. The crab tempura arrived! I wanted to eat the boiled crab quickly, but the hot food kept coming, so we didn’t have time. Finally, we got to the crab with the tag! The crab miso was the perfect accompaniment to the sake! It was so rich that it made the shell miso grill look cute. It’s an irresistible flavor for a drinker. The shell was thin and soft, yet packed with meat. The meat’s fine fibers made it so satisfying to remove in large chunks. Even I, who am clumsy, was able to peel it off easily with my thin fingernails. We caught it right away! There was plenty of meat in the claws too, so it was great to have plenty to eat. Let’s eat the crab meat we’d gathered! Wow, it’s something special. It really has an elegant taste. I wonder if it really does make a difference when it’s still tagged. It was so fluffy and delicious. We also got some crab for the hotpot. The crab for the hotpot looked delicious too. It was so fresh that I wanted to eat it as sashimi. And the vegetables. The waitress also prepared these. And here it is! Eat it while it’s still hot. I’m so busy eating this time, I’m sorry that the footage is from the same angle. The crab in the pot was surprisingly fluffy!!! The rare boiling was absolutely delicious. My husband was also very satisfied with the sake and crab. To finish, they made rice porridge with crab broth! The rice was light and the eggs were fluffy. It’s completely different when rice porridge is made by someone. The pear for dessert was also fresh and delicious. We finished the full course!!! Thank you for the meal. When we got back, the futon had been laid out for us. I’m full. The evening drink set I bought at a nearby roadside station is for home use. So, I’ll call it a night. Good morning ☀ I went to the hot springs this morning. I usually don’t watch TV at inns, but I felt a sense of security, like I was back at home, so I spent the day watching TV, which is unusual for me. Breakfast. We had breakfast in the same room as yesterday. Yesterday and today, the landlady warmed our room to the brim, a thoughtful gesture I appreciated. Breakfast overlooking the garden. What a luxurious morning. The portions were just right and looked delicious. I’m so happy to be enjoying my favorite Japanese food. The eggplant dengaku is also one of my favorites. The small bowl contained a cute side dish. The pink thing was rice, but I wonder what it’s called? The small bowl next to it was a takiawase (mixed stewed dish). And the thing I’m most looking forward to about the crab dish is crab soup . Crab-broth miso soup is so delicious, isn’t it? Even just miso soup and rice would be satisfying. The eggplant was also incredibly flavorful. The Western-style salad, unusual for a ryokan, was stylish with a French dressing reminiscent of a Western restaurant . It had a refined flavor, but also a nostalgic feel . It was a wonderful breakfast. I even enjoyed the local Kyotango yogurt. Thank you for the meal. The food was delicious, and the hot spring water was excellent, making this a wonderful inn. There was even a signature from Katsuya Nomura. Thank you for your hospitality. The cost of this stay was 31,900 yen (tax included) for the crab full course plan. They served us high-quality crab in the best condition. I was very satisfied with the quiet and relaxing time. Satisfied, I made a detour on my way back to Osaka. Thank you for watching until the end. There is a seafood wholesale supermarket near the accommodation. I went there first thing in the morning and they were serving crab soup. Of course I had a drink. It was delicious. The fish was cheap! There was a wide variety of souvenirs, so I recommend it. They also have luxury items. I bought a lot of things to take home.
