藤沢 宝泉寺 大仏と石碑をめぐる散歩｜Japan Kanagawa 4K Walking Tour 2025
Visiting Fujisawa’s ancient temples Current location: Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture Last time, I returned the rental bicycle to Keio University and headed south from there. Before heading to our destination, the cluster amaryllis flower patch, we spotted a temple, so we decided to check it out. Your subscription is the beginning of a journey. Let’s go to a new view. There are hydrangeas blooming along the river here. If you go upstream, you will find a cluster of red spider lilies. You can also see a few red spider lilies here and there. It’s the equinox season, so there are a lot of people visiting the graves. We have arrived at Hosenji Temple. “Look at the stars forever” is engraved on his grave. There aren’t many tombs shaped like the shogi king. There’s a mixture of old and new graves. A forgotten backpack hanging in the air. Wooden Jizo statues are rare. Is this Enma-do? The red spider lilies have already withered. It seems they bloomed early here. It’s a wild statue. Its legs are stretched out, but the shape is out of balance. Hosenji Temple was founded in 1519, 500 years ago. All the buildings at that time were destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake. It seems that it used to be a very big temple. It glows blue. There is a Great Buddha. I wonder if the era name on this stone monument is Bunsei? It’s from the early 1800s. There are even security guards directing traffic. 藤沢の町を歩いていると、川沿いに残る花々の色と、長い歴史を刻んだ祈りの気配が重なって見えてきます。慶應義塾の自転車を返却して南へ進む途中、偶然にたどり着いたのは創建から五百年を数える宝泉寺でした。関東大震災で伽藍は失われながらも、人々の祈りに支えられて再び立ち上がったこの寺には、将棋の駒をかたどった墓碑や文政期の石碑、木造の地蔵や閻魔堂など、さまざまな表情をもつ信仰の跡が残されています。彼岸の頃とあって墓参の人も多く、忘れ物のリュックが宙に揺れる光景さえも、この地の日常を物語っていました。境内に立つ大仏や苔むす石段は、訪れる人の心を静かに揺さぶります。川を遡れば、やがて彼岸花の群生地にたどり着く道すがら。咲き終えた花びらに季節の巡りを感じながら歩くと、暮らしと祈りが重なり合う藤沢の姿が、画面越しにもそっと伝わってくることでしょう。
