近江八幡 秋旅🍁琵琶湖に浮かぶ神秘の島・沖島と紅葉の八幡堀を巡る｜ラ コリーナ｜近江牛｜滋賀
Hello everyone! It's Naru! I've come to Omihachiman in Shiga Prefecture! Shiga Prefecture is centered around Japan's largest lake, Lake Biwa. It is divided into 5 areas: South, East, North, West, and Koka. We are in the Eastern Lake area (Koto). The Koto area includes Hikone, a castle town featuring the National Treasure Hikone Castle, and Omihachiman, which was built by Toyotomi Hidetsugu during the Warring States period. This time, we are visiting Omihachiman! First, we headed to Hachiman-bori Moat, which once supported the logistics of the Omi merchants. White-walled storehouses line the moat, and it is frequently used as a filming location for historical dramas. If you take the Hachimanyama Ropeway to the summit of Mt. Hachiman, you can see a panoramic view of Lake Biwa and the old castle town. At the foot of the mountain, there is Himure Hachimangu Shrine and La Collina Omihachiman, run by the long-established Japanese confectionery shop, Taneya. La Collina Omihachiman features fantastical architecture covered in a grass roof, making it feel like you've wandered into a Studio Ghibli world. It's a spot where you can feel the rich nature of Omi while tasting freshly made Baumkuchen! (German spit cake). Going a bit further, we'll take a boat trip to Okishima floating on Lake Biwa. Actually, Okishima is the only inhabited island floating in a freshwater lake in Japan. Inhabited islands in freshwater lakes are rare even globally. About 250 islanders live here, and there are no cars. Cats and tricycles come and go, leaving a somewhat nostalgic scenery. Good morning. I am currently in Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture! You stole it! My line was stolen! Haha. We came to Omihachiman. Omihachiman is… The castle town established by Toyotomi Hidetsugu!! He opened Hachimanyama Castle and developed this castle town. Toyotomi Hidetsugu was the child of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's older sister. He later became Hideyoshi's adopted son and was an amazing person who even became Kanpaku (Imperial Regent). That person built this castle town and the Hachiman-bori Moat we're going to now. He made it all. While looking at those places, shall we go take a look? How is this street? It's nice. Also… It has an old feel, doesn't it? A post town? It looks like a castle town. This is Hachiman-bori Moat. More than I thought… It's wide, isn't it? The autumn leaves are turning too! You're right! They're bright red. Doesn't the scenery feel like the old days? It really does! It's apparently used as a filming location for many movies. They said that. Like "Rurouni Kenshin". And recently, "Ikusagami" too. It seems they filmed here. Looks like a samurai might pop out. It does, doesn't it! Like they'd be walking around. This waterway was built in 1585 when Toyotomi Hidetsugu built Hachimanyama Castle. In the 1960s, the moat fell into disrepair and was in danger of being filled in. With the motto "Regret begins the moment it is filled," there is a moving story of how the local Junior Chamber revived it. It's started raining really hard… Seriously! I wanted to walk along the moat, but since it's raining, let's take a break. Rain is nice too. It feels atmospheric. This is nice! This vibe. The willows are nice! They set the mood! They say this Hachiman-bori Moat connects to Lake Biwa! Oh, is that so! So Lake Biwa… and Hachiman-bori are connected. The castle used to be up there (Mt. Hachiman). By having boats traveling on the lake stop inside the castle town,
he gathered people, goods, and information! There were fish!! Himure Hachimangu Shrine boasts a history of about 1,800 years. It offers blessings for warding off evil and business prosperity! Now we'll take the ropeway and go up Mt. Hachiman. The mountain has an elevation of 271m. There is apparently a shrine dedicated to Toyotomi Hidetsugu. Do you remember Hidetsugu? The guy I mentioned earlier… The warlord who established this castle town. Toyotomi Hideyoshi's… Disciple! Adopted son! You can enjoy a 4-minute aerial walk to the Hachimanyama Castle Ruins! From the summit, a panoramic view of Lake Biwa, the old castle town, and the Hira Mountains in the distance spreads out. On the site of the main keep (Honmaru), stands Murakumo Gosho Zuiryu-ji Temple, relocated from Kyoto. There was a portrait of Toyotomi Hidetsugu. He passed away at 28. The development of the castle town
began when Hidetsugu was 18, and he created the foundation in 5 years. The protagonist of the next Taiga Drama is
"Toyotomi Hidenaga (Hideyoshi's brother)"! This is spacious. It seems you can walk around it in about 30 minutes! Hachimanyama Castle no longer exists, but the stone walls remain. A temple built by his mother, Tomo, to pray for Hidetsugu's soul.
It was moved here from Murakumo, Kyoto in 1962. It was a very friendly cat♪ It's incredibly beautiful. Lake Biwa is nice. Lake Biwa is huge. It's like the sea. People in the old days must have thought it was the ocean. Aren't the fields in front beautiful too? There are a lot of them. They're neatly maintained. What do you call it? Grid pattern? It's wood-grain like and beautiful. Nice. It's a bit cold today, but it feels pleasant. You can also see Mt. Hiei. Mt. Hiei is on the left. Which one? It's probably not in the shot. Right, it's close! Does that mean that direction is Kyoto? It is! Wow, the view is really good. There was a cat in the Nishinomaru area too!! When we returned to Hachiman-bori, the boats were moving! We'll stroll through the town of Omihachiman! An American architect, also famous as the promoter of Mentholatum.
He loved Omihachiman and left behind many beautiful buildings blending Japanese and Western styles. The first building by Vories. They sell nuts and dried fruits! You can buy by weight or do "stuff-all-you-can"! Since we're here, let's try the stuffing challenge! These macadamias were so delicious! 😻 They say you can fit more dried fruit if you put it on top!! I bought nuts with the stuff-all-you-can deal. Inside the shop is super cute. It's stylish. At the end, the staff helped me and packed it super full. Looks yummy. I'll eat this and work hard on video editing!! Haha. Hachiman-bori → Tiffany
Approx. 5 min by car A restaurant directly managed by "Kanekichi Yamamoto," a butcher shop established in 1896! They pride themselves on the freshness and quality only a direct butcher shop can offer! Bon appétit! The hamburger steak lunch comes with roast beef! Looks delicious. It has good marbling and looks tasty! Tender!! It's roast beef but so tender! Wow! It's good! It's delicious! This is!! Did it surpass Hida Beef? You shouldn't compare them! Haha. It's too precious to eat! Expectations (for the hamburger) are rising!! The potage soup with your steak lunch looks good too. Nice! This color is great! Looks tasty. What is it? They said it was sweet potato. Looks good! I'm looking forward to it. The salad dressing was delicious! The hamburger steak is here. They kept us waiting, so I'm really looking forward to it♪ When I cut it, it felt quite firm. Is that so. Maybe they don't use much binder. It's mainly meat. Looks good. Isn't the visual amazing? It's shining!! Mmm!! Delicious!! Wow, the meat flavor is intense!! It packs a punch! The juices come out even without cutting. Yummy!! I thought it was hard when I cut it, but when I eat it, it's super soft. It's solid. Wow, so good. This sauce is tasty too. Just the right amount of saltiness. It's so delicious! That again. If you do that again, people will get mad. Masa fans will get angry at you! There were lots of comments saying "poor guy". The steak is super delicious!! The sweetness of the fat is different. It's mine though. It is mine but… Steak is delicious. The steak might be better for savoring the meat texture. It is mine though. I haven't eaten any yet… The steak is good. Both are delicious, but if you want to feel the meatiness, it's definitely steak. This (hamburger) is good too though. The interior was luxurious, making for a special lunch! Approx. 12 min by car We've arrived at La Collina! Let's go inside this mysterious building! Amazing! Isn't it like Laputa? It has a Ghibli feel. The bamboo in front? It's really beautiful too. It's a unique worldview! Like souvenirs? It seems they sell lots of sweets, so let's check that out too. Shall we buy for tomorrow? Breakfast. The hotel doesn't include it, so let's buy some here! Right after entering, there's a shop corner! The package shaped like the building is cute!! The facility was wider than I imagined!! Like a Giant Warrior… Haha. There are many photo spots too! Looks like some kind of empire… Haha. Designed by architect Terunobu Fujimori. Heading to the mysterious building! There was a cafe and a baumkuchen factory! It's an incredibly stylish cafe! The exterior was amazing, but inside too. The seats are round like baumkuchen, and the room too. It's round! The baumkuchen, it cut so softly!! There's sugar attached (to the outside)! It's warm. Delicious! Fluffy!! It's fluffy because it's freshly made. Baumkuchen is usually moist/dense. (This one is) Fluffy! The sugar around it is really delicious. It's tasty. So nice! If it were close by, I'd come every week. I might want to work here! It's stylish after all! It feels like an amusement park. It's great. There were various other facilities too! Renovated from a late Edo period sake brewery, it's an inn characterized by a space where history and modern style fuse! It's so clean you wouldn't think it's a storehouse. That part! When you enter, it's renovated nicely. Yes! It's renovated and… Modern. I mean modern… Exposed wood like this is nice. It really is! The dried flowers are cute too. And this room has a toilet and bath attached, which is grateful. It's easy because you don't have to go outside. There are various types of rooms, so when booking… There are bigger rooms too. Nice! You can choose according to your needs! Well then, for dinner… We're going out to eat today, so we'll wait until then! There are semi-private rooms, and the interior is calm. Plenty of broth/dashi!! Approx. 5 min walk 🚶♀️ Heading to "Okishima" by boat! Fare ￥1,000 (Round trip) We'll take the 8:15 boat! We'll arrive at Okishima in about 10 minutes! I rarely ride boats so I'm excited!! We've landed! Landed! Today we'll lightly climb the mountain on Okishima. There are so many boats! So they catch this much fish! It's surprising! You can catch fish in Lake Biwa! It feels like the old days! This island… You know the Genji and Heike clans? 7 fallen warriors of the Genji clan drifted ashore and settled the island! You mean they've lived here ever since (generations)!? Lived here forever? The beginning was the Genji fallen warriors! It's peaceful and nice♪ There are many sightseeing spots, but first to the pier (that pier). We came to that pier! The pier is pure white, long, and beautiful. You can see the mountains over there, it's beautiful. It's peaceful and nice after all♪ The sound of waves feels good. Even though it's a lake, there are waves. It's a nostalgic atmosphere. Right after climbing, you come to a spot with a good view! We climb up all at once at the beginning! It's maintained so it's easy to walk!! It's a soft path! Wow! Nice! Wow! You can look out over Lake Biwa. You can see the Hira Mountains well! Wow! The autumn leaves are beautiful!! I can see Lake Biwa! We can see Horikiri Port too! Isn't the view different from Mt. Kenken? We've come quite a bit to the right. Shall we have a snack? What is it? The snacks I bought yesterday. First, this! That's the one I bought secretly!! Actually, you bought it secretly… Besides the stuffing bag, I also bought "YASUKE NUTS!" This soy sauce flavor is delicious! Baumkuchen! When we went to La Collina, we bought… Taneya's bean daifuku. located in the fishing port. The dashi (broth) works well and it's super delicious!! The mixed tempura (Kakiage) is this big too! Food after hiking is great! True! Food after hiking is good! 1年ぶりの登山かな？
なるさんは、登山スタイルが似合っていますよ～

近江八幡、風情があって良いところで、八幡山の眺めは最高ですね。琵琶湖周辺の大小の湖を干拓して開発された田園が多く、碁盤の目のように整備されているようです。ヴォーリーズ建築は私の通っていた大学にもあります。近江八幡は京都からロードバイクで3度ほど走った事があり、実は11/30にも友達と走り、1番最初になるさんのように、その場所で、「ここが八幡堀の・・」と案内していました😅 ただロードバイクがあると、ロープウェイや船は使用しにくく、軽く街中を走り、安土城まで足を伸ばして、西の湖の湖畔でパンやお握り🍙を食べて帰るパターンです。安土城の階段は400段以上。 小さなドア、ラコリーナでしたか😅

近江八幡見所満載です。八幡掘の水郷沿いの屋敷は時代劇の映像を観てるよう。八幡山ロープ―ウェイの真っ赤な紅葉も鮮やか。当然に食は近江牛😊ラ・コリーナも面白そう。 少し離れて沖島で琵琶湖見ながらプチ登山、下山後は琵琶湖の畔で紅葉見ながら黄昏る、最高です。毎回、旅プランの参考になり行く先選びに・・。😂お疲れ様でした。

行き過ぎた利益の追求で様々な弊害が指摘されている昨今の資本主義社会において我が国の商売の原点である、「売り手よし、買い手よし、世間よし」の考え方があらためて見直されているのは大変意義深いことだと思っています。
八幡宮は1800年もの歴史があるんですね。
とても厳かな神社ですね。

八幡山城は強固な防御力を誇った城で有名ですな。

豊臣秀次と言えば本当に悲劇の人ですね。

沖島、私も知らなかったです！まさか琵琶湖に人の住んでる島があったとは！登山コースもあるの意外でした〜😮沖島の景色、のどかで癒されました😊
途中で出てきたキャラクターも可愛くて好きです✨また次回の動画にもぜひ登場してもらいたいです〜😆
오키시마섬… 짧지만 가을 정취가 가득한 저 숲길을 걸어보고 싶네요.
비와호도 넓고 멋진데 성하마을 풍경도 한번은 꼭 방문 해보고 싶습니다. 오늘도 행복한 영상입니다~^

Thanks to your wonderful videos, I keep learning more about places in Japan, which I had never heard of before. In this video, I especially like "La Collina", as it looks so strange and unique. Also, spending a night on Okishima would probably be very relaxing.
P.S. The "ch" in Baumkuchen is very difficult for non german speaking people to pronunciate. You did really well.

近江八幡に行ったんですね！
タイミングよく土曜日にブラタモリでも近江八幡やってました（笑）
城下町の建設に尽力して事実上の後継者とされていた秀次が、実子の秀頼の誕生によって後継者の地位を奪われ、
最終的に自害に追い込まれたという悲劇な話がされていました（泣）

ランチでのハンバーグは肉感が凄い！からの、まささんのステーキを一口は面白かったです。2口目も食べたそうな表情からはステーキにすれば良かったと感じました。
沖島の登山も2時間程で回れるとの事なので手軽にいけますね。
ここも行きたい場所の候補に入れたいと思いました。
