Walking in Hida-Kanayama: The Town That Inspired SILENT HILL f
I’m on a journey toward Osaka, passing through various towns before eventually returning to Tokyo.
From Shiga Prefecture, I passed through Sekigahara and entered Gifu, then continued north to Hida-Kanayama.
The “Kinkotsu Area” in Hida-Kanayama (Kanayama Town, Gero City) has become well known as one of the real-life locations that inspired the setting of the game SILENT HILL f. It seems that some fans visit the area as a kind of pilgrimage.
The town also prospered historically as a post station along the Hida Kaidō, and its preserved streetscape has a wonderful atmosphere. I took my time walking around and enjoying the quiet charm of the area.
