【54歳ソロ活】車中泊中にまさかの急激な意欲低下。
Good evening, I’m Sachi. I found a wonderful spot in someone’s video. The sight was so beautiful it made me sigh. I wanted to see it with my own eyes. So I decided to leave home tonight. I stop the car for a bit. The atmosphere is full of mystery and silence. This is a good sign for a start. However, there’s no time to relax there. I have to wake up early tomorrow. I must hurry ahead. I’ll rest here tonight. This rest area also has a roadside station (Michi-no-Eki). I’ve used this spot several times, so I feel safe. I know I do not need the lanterns because it is bright enough. I want to be soothed by the warm glow of lanterns. One of the joys of travel is finding pleasure in things that seem pointless. Time for a late-night snack. These seasoning containers are huge…They take up way too much space. I really need to transfer them to smaller containers soon. I’ll use fish sauce (Nam Pla) and oyster sauce instead of soy sauce. The soy sauce bottle was too big, so I left it at home. Fish sauce and oyster sauce are kind of like soy sauce’s relatives, right? Lol I recently managed to overcome my dislike of tomatoes. I use tomatoes often lately. Their red color makes food look delicious. However, I still don’t like eating them raw. This is my favorite cooking tool. The “Dishpan” that can be used as both a pot and a plate. A little sesame oil for flavor. I found this recipe online. But I forgot to bookmark it. So, I’ll proceed with the cooking from memory. Lol Pork. Was pork in the recipe? …Maybe. Tomatoes. That looks good. Whisk the egg. Chinese stock powder. Oh, did I put in too much? Oyster sauce and fish sauce. Oh, I’m starting to remember the recipe! Somen noodles. The starch on the surface of the noodles will thicken the soup. Somen noodles are typically boiled before use. Carrot rapée. This is something I stock up on a lot as a preserved side dish. Vinegar. Carrot rapée isn’t in the recipe. But it shouldn’t spoil the flavor. Beaten egg. Once the eggs have set slightly, sprinkle with green onions. Sanla-tang(Sour and Spicy)-style Soup Noodles. Let’s eat! I hardly ever follow recipes normally. Lol It’s a trouble for me to prepare ingredients specifically for a recipe. To make matters worse, I don’t even remember the recipe this time. Well, how does it taste? Awesome! Next time, I should think a little more about the seasoning balance. It should be even better! I think this is a dish that succeeds as long as you use Chinese stock and vinegar. Later, I searched the internet, wanting to know the correct recipe. I got many hits, but I couldn’t find the exact recipe I intended to use. The correct answer is lost to the darkness. The measurements and ingredients were all random. I will never taste this exact flavor again. It’s the miracle Sanla-tang. Lol Finished! Oh my goodness… What is this? White scallions… I clearly remember this ingredient being in the recipe. It would have been even tastier if I had added this… I have to go to sleep soon. Looks like I won’t need the electric blanket tonight. I’m going to the restroom. It’s very bright. I’ll buy my morning coffee here. The store opens at 6 o’clock. Wow, everything looks so delicious. I should be able to see the burial mounds (kofun) from that area. I’m feeling the flow of timeless ages… I feel like I’m time-traveling… Stop, stop! I have to return to reality! Lol I got too drawn into the mysterious atmosphere. It’s a hassle to get out of the car to use the restroom in the middle of the night. I’ll prepare the portable toilet just in case. Ah, it was upside down. Am I still in the world of fantasy? Get a grip, Sachi! Lol There is no one here except my car. Good night. Oh, my goodness! I overslept! I can’t go outside without makeup. I have to hurry up and get ready. But… I suddenly stopped wanting to rush. Lately, my enthusiasm often drops suddenly. I know the reason. Menopausal symptoms include “sudden decrease in motivation” and “mood swings.” I was having so much fun just a moment ago… I’ll have some coffee. Maybe my mood will change. I’ll go shopping at the store. Who will change my depressed mood? Is that you, sandwich? Lol I bought a radish dressed up with a ribbon, fresh Nori(seaweed), and Gimbap (Korean rice roll). I’m ready. Let’s go! Bye, I’ll come back again! The destination is 30 minutes from here. I should have arrived much earlier in the morning. With the sun this high, it’s too late. But I’m going to try to go anyway. I should be arriving soon. Oh, someone’s still there. Maybe I still made it in time? Will the mystical scenery I saw in the video be there? “Kameoka Kiri(Fog) no Terrace” This is a spot where you can see a sea of clouds without hiking. Great view, but… There is no sea of clouds. I imagine a sea of clouds floating over this magnificent landscape. Oh, a small coffee shop is there. I ask a staff member about the sea of clouds. She said there are days when you can see it even before noon, not just early morning. Apparently, even the people who came early this morning couldn’t see it today. I asked her to film me from behind. She gladly accepted my invitation to appear. She’s a very fun person! She said there’s a smaller observation deck a little further down. It was a bit disappointing that I couldn’t see the sea of clouds. But the good coffee, the fun chat with cofee shop staff member… They warmed my cold heart. Now that I feel better, I’m hungry! Lol I stop the car for a moment—it’s breakfast time. I bought tonjiru (pork miso soup) at the convenience store. Since the paper cup lacks charm, I’m transferring it to a bowl. I want to enjoy not only the taste but also the appearance. Oh no… I didn’t want to show you this appearance. Lol Wow, so many ingredients! “A plate that makes anything look delicious” The cute cutlery set. I forgot to use this last night even though I brought it. Gimbap. Pickles bought at the convenience store. The Gimbap Set Meal. Let’s eat! So good! I just had a great idea. I’m going to put fresh Nori on the Gimbap. Wow, it’s so good! Am I a genius? Lol I’ll put on even more fresh Nori. I am a genius whose passion for food never wanes. Lol What a wonderful breakfast! I was thinking of heading home. But I decided to stop by one more place. It’s a place featured in the video I watched besides the sea of clouds. That is today’s final destination. The place is filled with a slightly mysterious and dignified atmosphere. What lies beyond the rabbit’s gaze? My trip in search of mystique ends here.

Joy! Joy! Joy! I was so happy to wake up this morning to a new video from Sachiko. It's going to be a good day.
It seems this video is all about serendipity. In Japanese I believe you say guzen no hakken. You find a lovely spot on some ones video that inspires you to visit. Then you find a recipe and change it to something unique. You visit a place to see the sea of clouds but instead find a very kind person. Not planned. But the results are special. To me the start of this video shows this perfectly. You; standing on a balcony overlooking beautiful scenery. It says: What a wonderful world. What path will present itself in this day? Where will this video take me? Serendipity. Lets go! Let it begin!
That moon silhouetting the trees was magnificent and mysterious. Nighttime is always mysterious to me and a little spooky. It represents the unknown. It holds things that cannot be seen. What is lurking out there??? I like that.
I'm glad you did some time traveling. I used to walk through cemeteries. It made me think of all the people buried there. They were all real people just like you and me, with real lives, real families and friends. What did they do for a living? What adventures did they have? What mark did they make on this earth with their existence? What would it be like to travel back in time to meet some of them (the nice ones anyway). We will join them soon enough. I like that you have such an imagination and appreciate the ethereal nature of our lives. I think you would say: Kono yo no mono tomo omoenai. I also like that you make me smile and laugh is so many simple ways.
In my opinion, you don't really need makeup. You are a naturally very attractive woman. (Attractive both on the outside and inside)!
Mood swings? They are natural. But coffee goes a long way to making things better!
Disappointing that you missed the sea of clouds. but it was still a breathtaking view! It reminds of when I climbed the Watsman (the second highest mountain in Germany). At the top looking down into the valley of the Alps there was a layer of clouds below. It was kono yo no mono tomo omoenai! I will remember that forever. And the music you played was perfect for the moment. That is a great shot of you standing at the rail looking out at the world before you.
The ending was another place of peace, tranquility and thoughtfulness. You are artistic and creative, blended with a perfect imagination. I like that.
I'm still surprised how green and lush your part of Japan is. We've had snow every day for the past two weeks. We have over 2 feet of snow on the ground (over 60 cm)!
