November 24, 2025. Good morning. We are a middle-aged couple traveling in Hokkaido as nomads, camping in our car with our dog. We’re currently located in Kitami City. Corgi travel, the van life with a corgi. Osa, Mama-chan, and Kotaro. Preparing breakfast. This morning’s instant ramen. Osa loves instant ramen. There are many interesting shops in Kitami City. Today, we’re planning to have lunch at a cafe and a sweets shop we researched. Cleaning the car. Kotaro is hostile toward vacuum cleaners (or is it a toy?). At home, I have him wait in another room, but that’s not possible in the car. We have a FF stove in the back, so we need to keep it clean. Osa is big on car washing. First, we head to a cake shop. Patisserie Nobuya. Patisserie Nobuya. I’m tempted by the beautiful cake. We bought some and had coffee. There’s a nice park nearby. Patisserie Nobuya. Midorigaoka Park. Midorigaoka Park. Lately, people have been asking me what brand my siphon is. It’s nice to see someone interested. Kotaro is destroying his toys. Osa chose his favorite apple pie . Juicy apples on a moist sponge cake. Topped with a crispy pie crust? Banana flavored mousse? Or maybe banana puree? This chocolate cake was delicious. In Hokkaido, they call exchanging something “bakuru. ” Kotaro also had cheese for a snack. We took a walk in the park. There’s a facility in the park that’s free to enter, so we went there. Kitami City Green Center. A greenhouse where temperate and subtropical plants are planted. A traveler’s tree (standard Japanese name: Asian quince). Citrus fruits and plants donated by friendly Kochi Prefecture. Being among these large plants somehow makes me feel like an insect. She’s an old lady after all. It was a lovely botanical garden. When we got back, Kotaro was taking a nap. I was getting hungry, so we had an early dinner. Midorigaoka Park. Forest food, cafe. Forest food, cafe. A wide variety of menu items, including lunch and sweets, are available. Water is self-service, with a choice of apple water, rooibos tea, or plain water. The water has a subtle apple flavor. Osa chose rooibos tea. A forest feast, an adult’s children’s lunch. Forest food, special beef stew. Looks delicious. The well-cooked vegetables are melt-in-your-mouth. The potato salad tastes like ice cream. So stylish, isn’t it? It has the feel of a children’s lunch . The adult children’s lunch, which Osa has been looking forward to for a long time, came with so many dishes that it was hard to decide what to eat. The beef was also very tender. Thank you for the meal. Since it was an early dinner, Osa ate the inn ‘s meal. A relaxing evening. A tart filled with fruit. A beautiful sight to behold. A snack for Kotaro too. The botanical garden we visited today was unexpectedly wonderful. The adult children’s lunch, which I was looking forward to, was delicious. The dessert at the end was also delicious and satisfying.
