Cafe hopping, amazing family-style Italian food & legendary Chinese restaurant
Hello and welcome back to the channel!
Our first stop this time will be in Central. We are now at the historic site of the
Hollywood Road Police Married Quarters It has now been turned into a creative hub,
celebrating heritage And the love of art and design Let’s go inside Signage of our first destination,
a modern interpretation of a traditional tea house (T/EA) The tea house occupies multiple spaces in the building We’ll go place our order here first The aroma of tea leaves is in the air and it is wonderful There is an air conditioned dining area in the next room But we will sit outside, the weather is great today Immaculate detail everywhere we look (Lychee black tea) This tea is fragrant – smells fruity but it’s not sweetened And there are tea leaves hidden in the ice,
a very nice touch (Blue lotus tea) What a beautiful presentation And a heart-shaped glass tea cup! (Tahini cold konjac noodle with chicken and sesame sauce) The baby tomatoes are so fresh and tasty,
the perfect food to start your day with (Egg noodle with braised minced pork and onsen egg) Another great presentation It is flavorful and feels like a light dish,
which is great How nice would it be to have
a quiet and peaceful lunch like this everyday I love spending time at PMQ.
We will return to this area later in this video. Our next stop is in Sai Ying Pun,
going for some Italian food (LucAle) The entrance is tucked away in an alley,
somehow giving it a cozy vibe And we’re in Can we get everything please? (Burrata and 24 month aged Parma ham) We should’ve ordered the full portion for this,
this is only half portion. It is amazing! (Hamachi carpaccio with fruit and vegetable sorbet) A melt-in-your-mouth, buttery carpaccio.
This signature dish is a must-get. The arrival of this paper box caught me off-guard It smells soooo goood. (Handcut tagliolini pasta with lobster, prawns, and scallop ragu, fresh tomato and basil) Recommended dish by the restaurant,
it is absolutely delightful (Homemade tortellini filled with liquid carbonara sauce, pork cheek and zucchini) My favorite main dish of the night!
Feels like an Italian xiao long bao with its liquid carbonara filling (Rangers Valley rib steak with oven roasted potato in lard, eggplants and spinach cream) Every part of this is great,
the steak has so much flavor we didn’t even want to use the sauce This creamed spinach is a pleasant surprise We couldn’t get enough of it! (Mille feuille with Sichuan pepper pan cotta foam) Our first dessert is here –
this is a mix of many different flavors and it doesn’t feel stuffy (LucAle’s style tiramisu) And this is definitely one of the best Tiramisus
I’ve had in a while I recommend you to get this no matter how full you are! Thank you for the great food, LucAle. There are many other small restaurants and cafes in this area,
we will be back soon We will now move on to our next stop Leaving Sai Ying Pun, we have a mission to do at IFC in Central I am sure everyone is familiar with Shake Shack, but in case you aren’t, it is a popular American burger chain (Shake Shack) The simplicity of their food always brings me back Our first mission is to try their new white truffle series Patiently waiting for this to start beeping Here we go! (Fifty/Fifty – lemonade and iced tea) (White truffle fries) This is good but I can’t tell the difference
between this and other truffle fries I love little details. (White truffle burger) Ok this burger is good and the curly fries really add to it (Shack burger) The classic is still good. Thank you Shake Shack.
We will now go home for our second mission. Ta-da!
This is what we went to Shake Shack for. What a cute little burger candle! It has a faint aroma of truffle,
but to me this is more about its look than its smell If you like this as well, go get it while you can! We will now head back to the PMQ area to visit a cafe (Sang Roastery) This cafe was packed when we were around for lunch last time So we came back to try their coffee This cafe is famous for roasting their own coffee beans,
and is always packed on weekends They also sell homemade pastries and
other coffee beans and equipments Its minimalist design and high ceiling
make this small cafe feel spacious Now let’s see them work their magic (Dirty) The layers slowly blend and create a rich, complex taste.
This one is very good. (Homemade peanut crisp) This tastes like peanut butter cookies.
3 was not enough at all. (Peru Nicolas Chilcon organic coffee) A fantastic fruity flavor.
I could taste and smell figs with every sip. No wonder there always is a queue outside,
everything here is great Thank you Sang Cheong for the great coffee. There is a lot left to explore in this area.
If you have any recommendations, please share it with me in the comments! Our next stop is very close by,
a Chinese restaurant that we’ve been trying to book for months It opens for booking quarterly, combine this with its limited seating, makes it extremely difficult to get a table. (The Chairman) Loving the lush greens here. Every book here is related to culinary, pretty cool. Our menu for today. Jasmine tea while we wait for our first dish. (Cold squid noodle and lily bulbs with pine nut gazpacho) We are now underway. This is definitely the most flavorful cold noodles I have ever had.
A great start of the night. (Fresh water crab roes with pomelo skin and winter melon) The crab roes transform this piece of winter melon
to a whole different level (Steamed fresh flowery crab with aged Shaoxing wine, chicken oil and flat rice noodles) One of the highlights of the night is upon us! We are now in crab season, so it is as good as you’d expect.
The real standout is the noodles though! (Camphor wood smoked black foot goose) I wish you could smell this.
Its smoky aroma is very enticing. It looks deceptively dry here but it is so juicy. (Poached capon with scallion oil) The meat is unbelievably tender.
We couldn’t stop eating it! A small break before the rice dish.
Everything has been wonderful so far. (Stewed pork belly and preserved vegetable clay pot rice) Braised pork with preserved vegetable
is an extremely popular Cantonese dish But it is my first time seeing it combined with clay pot rice, and it is ridiculously good! Can’t forget about these rice crackers.
So cripsy! (Goji berry ice cream, red date cake, black sesame soup) We were recommended to start from the left.
The ice cream was especially good. We’re done. Saw this cool piece of artwork on the way out. The whole menu was impeccable,
and a very reasonable price for its quality. Thank you Chairman. We are heading towards Kowloon side for our last stop. (Freespace Jazz Fest) We’re here at the Jazz music festival happening in West Kowloon park The first thing we saw was the merch store On a fine day like this,
a lot of people are having a picnic and enjoy good music We’re getting a drink first. Two Moons is a local distillery specializing in gins All 3 of their signature gins Got a gin and tonic! A smaller stage is set up by the shore What a glorious backdrop. Moving to the main stage now for the next performance You don’t have to buy a ticket
like you normally would for music festivals So it is quite a lively Sunday afternoon here at the park Thank you for the great music! And this wraps up our journey this time.
Thank you so much for staying till the end! If there is anything you think I should try,
please let me know in the comments. See you in the next video! 🙂
Hunting down the new Shake Shack burger candle, having absolutely amazing Michelin-starred Chinese food and enjoying jazz on a Sunday afternoon.
