三重・尾鷲を歩く｜絶景の海・山、絶品グルメ、残された森林鉄道跡を巡る旅

昨年に引き続き三重県・尾鷲の旅。
小さな町だけれど、海も山も食も文化も詰まった魅力的な場所です。

綺麗な海、深い山の景色。
昔から変わらず町を見守る神社。
その一方で、廃墟が増え、少し寂しさを感じる場所もあります。
それでも、この町が好きで、毎年年末になるとみんなで集まりに訪れる——そんな特別な場所です。

今回の夕飯と呑みでお邪魔したのは
与太呂さん と 割烹 田舎さん。
紹介したい店はまだまだあって、行ってみたいお店もたくさん。
魚料理はもちろん、肉料理も絶品。そして何より驚いたのは… マンボウ料理！
これはぜひ皆さんにも一度味わってほしいおすすめの一品です。

そして今回の探索は 北山索道・古和田駅跡。
廃止から何十年も経つ今も、索道の中継駅としての機械が山の中に残され、
時が止まったような不思議な空気をまとっています。

寂しさの中にある、過去への旅。
今回も尾鷲らしい、充実した旅になりました。

“Exploring Owase, Mie | Stunning Sea & Mountains, Local Food, and the Forgotten Kitayama Forest Railway”

This winter, I returned once again to Owase, a small coastal town in Mie Prefecture.
It may be small, but it’s packed with beautiful scenery, amazing food, and a unique atmosphere that keeps drawing me back.

Owase offers clear blue seas, deep mountain landscapes, and traditional shrines that have stood for generations.
At the same time, the town holds a quiet melancholy, with abandoned buildings and traces of the past.
Still, it’s a place I love deeply—a town where friends gather every year at the end of December.

For dinner and drinks, we visited Yotaro and Kappo Inaka.
There are so many great restaurants to introduce, and even more I still want to visit.
Of course, the seafood is fantastic, but the meat dishes are just as impressive.
And the biggest surprise of the trip—mambo (sunfish) cuisine.
If you ever come to Owase, you should definitely try it.

This time’s exploration took us to the Kitayama Forest Railway, focusing on the former Kowada relay station.
Although the line was abandoned decades ago, machinery from the old cableway system remains hidden deep in the mountains, as if frozen in time.

A little lonely, yet a beautiful journey into the past.
Once again, this winter trip to Owase was truly fulfilling.
