Japan 1minute Travel 青森 深浦 驫木駅（AOMORI Fukaura）
ここは、青森県の深浦町。
2025年の初夏、私はこの地を初めて訪れました。
最初に驚かされたのは、海沿いを走る五能線の風景です。
冒頭に映っている驫木駅（とどろき）は、まるで昭和初期の映画セットのよう。
誰が降りてくるのだろうか？もし三十前後の女性のひとり旅がふらりと現れたら、思わず物語が始まりそうな気がしてしまいます。
白神山地の玄関口・十二湖駅、森山海岸、黄金崎不老ふ死温泉、千畳敷海岸・・・。
五能線はずっと日本海のすぐそばを走るため、車窓は常に“特等席”。
夏の穏やかな青も良いですが、冬の荒々しい海をこの列車から眺めてみたくもなります。
まさに絶景鉄道です。
映像の最後に登場するのは、日本一の称号をもつ深浦の大銀杏。
根元までこんなにも豊かに枝葉が広がる銀杏は初めてで、最初は木だと気づかないほど。
秋には一面が黄金色に染まり、「ビックイエロー」と呼ばれ県外からも多くの人が訪れるそうです。
この町は海の幸も豊かで、大間へ向かう途中に回遊するクロマグロが釣れることでも知られています。
今年（2025年）は特に“当たり年”だったとか。
海あり、山あり、世界自然遺産・白神山地あり。
絶景鉄道がつなぎ、四季ごとに景色を変えてゆく町、それが深浦町です。
Here is Fukaura, a coastal town in Aomori Prefecture.
I visited this place for the first time in the early summer of 2025.
What struck me first was the scenery along the Gono Line, which runs right by the sea.
Todoroki Station, shown at the beginning, looks just like a film set from the early Shōwa era.
You can’t help but imagine a story beginning if a woman in her thirties were to step off the train during a solo journey.
From Juniko Station—the gateway to the Shirakami Mountains—to Moriyama Coast, Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen, and the vast Senjojiki Coast,
the Gono Line stays close to the Sea of Japan, giving passengers a “front-row seat” to the ever-changing view.
The calm blue of summer is wonderful, but I’d also love to see the rough winter waves from this train.
It truly is a scenic railway.
At the end of the video appears the great ginkgo tree of Fukaura, known as the largest in Japan.
I had never seen a ginkgo with such dense branches all the way down to its base; at first, I didn’t even realize it was a tree.
In autumn, the entire tree turns a brilliant golden yellow, earning the nickname “Big Yellow,”
and attracting visitors from far beyond the prefecture.
The town is also rich in seafood and is known for the migrating bluefin tuna that can be caught on the way to Ōma.
This year (2025) was said to be an especially good season.
With the sea, mountains, and the World Natural Heritage site of the Shirakami Mountains,
Fukaura is a town where a scenic railway links landscapes that shift beautifully with each season.
