平野川の源流、滝野川にかかる落差15メートルの直瀑は、まっすぐに水煙を上げて落ちる姿が圧巻で、まるで天と地を結ぶ光の柱のよう。滝へと続く道は短く、駐車場のすぐ近く。しかし、その一歩先には、この地が古来より神域として崇められてきた理由が、静かに息づいています。滝の脇には、樹齢1000年を超える杉が凛と立ち、千年の時を見守ってきた風格を漂わせています。駐車場横の大ケヤキもまた、どっしりと根を張り、この地の「守り神」のような存在感を放っていました。

A large zelkova tree beside the parking lot also has solid roots, emanating a presence like that of a guardian deity of the area.
