試合が無い日も楽しめる!長崎スタジアムシティと隠れたポケモンスポット

I’m here at JR Nagasaki Station. Today, from here, I’m going to visit Nagasaki Stadium City! Nagasaki Stadium City is located about a 10-minute walk from Nagasaki Station. You could also see it from the train window in the previous video, but to get there from Nagasaki Station— —you can simply walk north along either the JR tracks or the Urakami River. As I walk for a while, I can see a large building ahead. I’ve arrived at Nagasaki Stadium City! Nagasaki Stadium City is a multi-purpose complex that includes a soccer stadium, arena, and commercial facilities. It was developed under private leadership by the Japanet Group, based in Nagasaki, and opened in October 2024. Now I’m going to head to the soccer stadium located at the center of Nagasaki Stadium City! You enter the stadium from the back stand side on the 2nd floor. This is V-Varen Nagasaki’s home stadium: PEACE STADIUM Connected by SoftBank. It’s a soccer-specific stadium with a capacity of about 20,000 spectators. I’ve come up from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor. On the south side of the stadium is the SOUTH Shopping Mall, which has many shops. One unique feature of this stadium is that even when no matches are being held, you can enter not only the concourse but also the stands. Since I’m here, I’d like to go inside! I’ve sat in the front-row seat behind the goal. The pitch is right in front of me. It feels like a Premier League stadium—though I’ve never actually been to one… 😅 The distance to the pitch is said to be the shortest in Japan—about 5 meters. The building you see above the back stand is the Stadium City Hotel Nagasaki. This hotel-integrated design is also one of the unique features of the stadium. I’ve gone back up to the 3rd floor and am walking along the concourse. I’ve arrived at the main stand side. Here’s the view of the stadium from the main stand side. I’ve returned to the back stand side on the 2nd floor. There are food stalls lined up along the concourse of the back stand. Even though there were no soccer matches or events today, all the shops were open. In this way, the area works like a food court for the whole complex on regular days, making effective use of the facilities. I’ve come to the NORTH Office Building on the north side of Nagasaki Stadium City. Here, I found Japanet’s only physical store: Japareku Lab. In this area, you’ll also find the Happiness Arena, home of the Nagasaki Velca basketball team. Next to it are the official shops of V-Varen Nagasaki and Nagasaki Velca. I’ve come to the back stand side on the 3rd floor. There are also several restaurants here. Here’s the view of the stadium from the back stand side. I’ve returned to the 2nd floor and come to the southwest plaza on the main stand side. If you walk from JR Nagasaki Station along the Urakami River, this is the first place you’ll reach. This is the main stand entrance of the stadium. From here, you get a good view of Inasayama and the Urakami River to the west of Nagasaki Stadium City. From here onward is footage from when I visited again in November this year for a Pokémon GO event. That day, V-Varen Nagasaki’s public viewing event was being held. There was no match being played here, but many fans gathered to support the team in their away match. I arrived just moments before the match ended, but I got to see Nagasaki’s goal scene! The match was just about to end, but… They scored another goal in additional time! The final score was 4–0, a big win for V-Varen Nagasaki! Will this finally be the year they get promoted to J1? This is the NIGHT MIRAGE laser show, held every day after 7 p.m. You can enjoy the show for free from any seat in the stadium. This is another example of Nagasaki’s unique approach to opening the stadium to the public daily. The content of the show is updated every month. Additionally, on days when V-Varen Nagasaki or Nagasaki Velca win, a special version of the show is played. Earlier, V-Varen Nagasaki won their match, but because it overlapped with the Pokémon GO event— —that day’s show was a special Pokémon GO version. I’ll share the details of that in a separate video. Finally, I’d like to introduce a hidden Pokémon spot inside Nagasaki Stadium City. This spot is near the parking area on the 1st floor of the SOUTH Shopping Mall. Suddenly, Ampharos appeared in the locker room! I mentioned in a previous video that Ampharos was appointed as Nagasaki Prefecture’s local Pokémon, but— Only this locker room area in Nagasaki Stadium City is completely Pokémon-themed. (lol) Ampharos, appointed as the “Nagasaki Future Support Pokémon.” An introduction to Pokémon Local Acts. Here’s an explanation panel about Ampharos. Lockers decorated with Mareep, Flaaffy, and Ampharos. Last year, there was also a Pokémon GO PokéStop here, but unfortunately it was removed this year. Because of that, I think many people who visited Nagasaki Stadium City during this year’s Pokémon GO event— —may not have noticed this place at all. That’s all for today’s video. Thank you for watching!
