Noboribets Onsen is very interesting to me and if you want to visit there in the winter, you really need to wear snow boots.

The majority of Japanese I assume is conservative and yet they are not embarrassed to enter an onsen in their birth suit. It sounds contradictory. Even when the public bath is divided between for men and women only I, being a male, would not even consider going into an onsen with other males. Too shy for doing so🙂.
Do they have private onsens? Wintry in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada also.
15,000 yen per night for breakfast only is expensive.
The other day I visited Hijiori Onsen in Yamagata Prefecture, where I stayed one night with two meals for only ¥10,000.
It is a small, remote hot spring town, but the quality of the hot spring water is excellent. Please look for a cheap and wonderful lodging.

If it is cold outside when going to the onsen, then I would either recommend wearing socks with the zori or wearing your regular shoes. The other thing is that going to the onsen is best when it is summer

Beautiful Ryokan. All the Japanese food lool delicious. As a vegetarian I always wonder what you eat though, but there seemed to be plenty of vegetarian meals.
