Hello! This is Yabi Travel. This trip is to the northern part of the Osumi Peninsula in Kagoshima Prefecture. We’ll explore the town of Soo, rich in natural beauty. It has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Caves. I’ve arrived at Mizonokuchi Cave. Spring water from the Kirishima mountain range eroded Over thousands of years This is a cave said to have been artificially created. With a width of 14 meters and a maximum height of 6 meters This is a large cave with a total length of 209 meters. Long cherished and protected by the local people On the Sunday closest to Buddha’s birthday (April 8th) each year, The Mizonokuchi Iwaana Festival is being held. Recently, it has also gained attention as a power spot. This is the Okawara Gorge, where you can enjoy beautiful scenery. I’ve arrived at Kirihara Falls, one of the Eight Views of Sō. This magnificent waterfall has a width of 40 meters and a drop of 12 meters. Flowing water possesses an unstained beauty. The blue of the water’s surface is crystal clear. Deep within the mountains, far from human settlements The faint sound of water could be heard. The “Three-Tiered Roar” waterfall, a bit different from the usual Carving into the bedrock of the riverbed, it creates small waterfalls here and there. It is called the “Three-Tiered Roar” due to its landscape. Surrounded by greenery and nature, my heart feels deeply soothed.
